The girl I asked to marry me back when I was 24 decided to move to Tennessee instead.

Oh, I thought this was the place to complain about ex-girlfriends.

This was written years ago and I copy-pasted here. Figured someone may want to read it. It's not the whole of it by no means. Just some of it.

American

The other day I was talking with my mom and mention something about speaking English. She replied, 'We speak American. Not English'. It takes a mother to tell you you're being a fool sometimes to make you remember yourself. I've been on the net which makes you conform to other people's ways of talking so they can understand you.

If you didn't know, American language is the hardest language in the world to learn. If you're brought up speaking it it's not that big of a deal. It's also a dying language. Back in the 90s there was a informal discussion on it. Well, it was wordsmiths and laymen having articles published, adding their opinions in books, interviews and some face-to-face amongst those who knew or met each other. That ended in three camps which were, 'The language is dead already seeing as the children aren't taught it', 'The language is evolving. It can't die because it's just slang' and 'The language is going to be dead by 2030. The reason being is that most people won't know it or use it because they won't be understood'.

The second camp is a bunch of complete jackasses in my opinion. Buck meaning dollar has been in the language for over three hundred years now. There's a point when slag stops being slang and becomes common. The first camp are those kinds of people. You just smile and pat them on the head. They'll never change. The last camp is my company. Logic dictates that for a language to thrive it must be used.

There's the spoken word and the written word. The written word is more formal and polite in nature. The spoken word is more rude. It's one of those things the military could use to convince the Japanese public to rally against the uncouth U.S. in WW2. Either way the language is used nowadays it tends to be wrong. Case in point, a McDonald's ad was out some time back. It was some kid playing a flute who started a brouhaha.

Remember the written word is a nicer way of saying something. You can Google it to find out the meaning which is, 'People getting over excited'. Google is helping the demise of the language too. The meaning is a lot more unpleasant. A brouhaha is when people are trying to kill each other in a fight. Driven by mindless rage it takes extreme force to stop them. There's also what people wrongly call a riot or angry mob. There's been only a few of these that happen before that I know of in the states. The Draft Riots in New York City is probably the most recognizable. The reason they couldn't stop the riots was a brouhaha of between 100 and 150 people were running rampid killing whomever they got their hands on. The rage crazed people were stop by the naval broadsides.

American is a corruption of most of the languages from europe and some other countries. Schlub is Yiddish for unattractive. American it's personality aspects of a person is unattractive not physical. Calling someone a lazy crumb-bum in a nicer way is one example. Corruption of Irish words give you stuff like uncle meaning mercy. 'Doing a Brodee', is another Irish corruption that means to die of natural causes quick. Like a massive heart attack where you're dead before you hit the floor. It's from when people worked long hours, didn't sleep enough and didn't eat enough.

Some other words and phrases.

ah-Nyah (corruption of 'yeah' or 'yes') Mockingly pretending you're egotistical.

Hell's Bells is a replacer for 'God damn'. There is a rare use of the phrase that depicts a catastrofe such as the aftermath of a hurricane. It cames from a saying. "When Hell's bells chime. Doom shall follow'.

Peckerwood is an old bug infested piece of wood that a woodpecker pecks on. When you compare or call someone a peckerwood you're saying they are completely useless.

Zipper Head (or zip) is a person who is brainwashed. Once a person is this way there's little hope for them. There has been some success to reverse the damage if they can get to proper help before the psychosis is permanent. A person who is fully brainwashed can not reason for themselves any longer. They believe they still have the ability to do so wrongly. I remember a KGB guy saying they call it, "demoralization". Referring to the social manipulation program they used against the Nato countries.

Mushroom-'Lives in the dark and eats ****'.
When used to describe a person it means they are clueless and believe the lies they are told.

Toadstool- 'A mushroom a toad sits on'.
When used to describe a person it mean that person is clueless, believes lies and is easily manipulated.

Golden: Good or pure other then the regular meaning for the word. Pure is a left over from the Alchemists who used it poetically as gold is considered pure. So if you do read works by the Alchemists and don't have a good understanding of prose poetry you'll not understand any of it. Then you write a book that people like me read and think you're a jackass cause you have no clue on the subject. An example: "Stay golden". Which means to stay true to yourself.

Bullet: A bullet is a projectile fired from a firearm. When the bullet is seated in a cartridge the items retains "bullet" as the name. Rounds instead of bullets is G.I. jargon.

Cartridge: A cartridge is the casing with a primer and gunpowder put in it. In British English it retains the name "cartridge" when a bullet is seated in it.

Splinters is the term for debris from an explosion such as an artillery shell. Shrapnel and fragmentation is G.I. jargon.

Kid, pup and cub are replacers for child. Kitten is only used for girls in addition to the others.

CrackerJack is a U.S. Navy term for an outstand sailor or marine. It came into use around the start of the formal Navy back when. In the mid to late 1800s it was apart of common as a replacer for outstanding. I only heard it used that way by those who were in their 70s or older when I was a kid back in the 1970s. And very rarely.

Caramel coated Crackerjacks used the word and it fell out of use. The normal became, "Where you get your licence? As a prize in a Crackerjack box?".

B-Line is an old express train route from years ago that was the fasted way to travel. In the language it means to travel to a destination directly and as fast as possible.

Bullsh't-A lie or exaggeration of the trueth.

Horsesh't-The wrong answer for the wrong question. It can also be used as a replacer for nonsense if it is annoying.

Elephant sh't-Completely screwed up beyond belief. "You mix enough bullsh't and horsesh't together which makes a pile of elephant sh't".

Shooting the sh't-This is when people tell stories (true stories) of things that happen leaving out most all the boring stuff except for what's needed. This is to make the stories more entertaining.

Horse with the bit: This means the subject won't stop. It comes from when a person is horseback riding and the horse bites down on the bit. In this case you can only hold on until the horse gets tired or lets the bit loose again. A bit is a metal piece that fits behind a horse's teeth. You tell the horse where to go by lightly tugging on it. You don't yank which will hurt or injure the horse's mouth.

Horseback: This is when you are seated on the back of a horse.

Horse riding: Refers to a position for sex. That sexual position is when a man lays on his back while the lady mount him looking as if she is sitting on a horse.

Dog with a bone: This means the subject won't let go of something. A person refusing to stop looking for someone is an example.

Fine and dandy: Feeling good and looking good. Also a replacer for wonderful.

Tin Soldier: A Tin Soldier is a soldier who holds honor and duty above all else. They follow orders without a semblance of humanity. Some confuse this with toy soldier.

Toy Soldier: Someone who is playing at being a soldier. Calling a soldier this is saying they aren't fit to be in uniform.

Fiend- A person or creature who'll do anything to satiate their cravings. Example, Drug fiends will lie, cheat, steal, murder and what have you to get their fix. The written word you probably come across is "enemy". why? Because a fiend will turn on you in a heartbeat to fill their need.

That's just some of it. The thread goes on for pages. Felt like adding this here for something to do.

someone to hold my hand, fly me to the moon and play among the stars

(I told that to a guy I liked (past tense!!!) here in the forums a long
time ago and he replied "that is silly" or something to that effect. ohwell )

Sounds perfectly reasonable to me that you'd want to experience some romance. Being a bit silly is apart of a woman's charm.

omg I was reading the quote and I thought that happened to me too... hahaha it was me who wrote it laugh drinker

SpaceCodet, thanks for digging this up and thank you for your comment. Most people in my age group are definitely NOT young at heart. happy flowerforyou

mzRosie,
Romance is very important for people. It reduces anxiety in people. Girls need to cry and boys need to want to fight dragon.

Went over to visit my parents yesterday. My father was sitting in his chair watching tv.

Dad: Happy birthday. How does it feel to be an old man.

Me: My knees hurt from the change in the weather. ...it's October ninth already?

Dad: Yup.

Me: That's something.

Everything is lollipops and rainbows, boy-o. Only respectable women who had the misfortune of being widowed or divorced are single mothers. That other chunk of the female population doesn't exist. Reality is how you feel about things and nothing to do with reason. Reason is "problematic" that's why SoCrates had to be canceled so the fake world can exist along with their fake words. Don't y'know?

When people talk about "Love" it's the story book stuff. The bond takes time to develop and more times then not doesn't become more then a normal friendship.

As the saying goes, "No fight. No glory". In other words, "Find out if there's something between you and that person by talking with them. Or you can ignore the interaction and get to doing whatever".

Redrider,
You can meet people in stores such as a grocery, arts&crafts or other places where people aren't in a rush. You can tell if a person is in a rush by the way they are acting. The same way you do if you're busy.
There's articles and posts telling women to meet men in hardware stores and such places. Every time I was in a hardware store it was to get lumber or other things for a job. Wasn't there to socialize.

Blondy,
Never talked with KitKat.

I'm not doing anything.
There are no witnesses.
Ya can't prove anything.

Listen up you mugs. Make sure there's no eyeballs peeking around the place.
If you find any, give them the business end of your gats. Then remove the evidence with a concrete life vest.

Back when I was 8 years old I would walk around and pick locks with a pin knife I found. Just did it for something to do. I would lock the cars, doors and other locks I opened as I wandered around Jersey City.

Having difficulty finding tunes for a gig on Sunday, brain freeze..ohwell grumble

Last year or so a gamer friend of mine had a booking at some pirate party and the theme was "Alternate Reality". Here's a song I altered for him if you want to use it. You'll need to change up the music to match.

A Flock Of Seagulls-I Ran

As I'm walking down the avenue
Never saw a girl like you
Never met a girl like you

Stormy hair and those violet eyes
Eyes that will hypnotize me through
Eyes that will mesmerize me through

(corus)

A cloud appears above your head
An erie light starts surrounding you
A fairy light forms around you

The cloud is getting darker still
The Aurora borealis comes from you
The aurora begins shining through you

(corus)

Reach out to touch your face
You start fading from my view
You are disappearing from my view

I reach out to try again
I start becoming ethereal like you
Turning into a ghost like you

And I ran
Ran so far away
And I ran
I ran both night and day
Couldn't get away

-(corus)
And I ran
I ran so far away
Couldn't get away

I like seeing things such as this. It forces the idiots to choke on it. The complacency of them thinking humans who came before were stupid. Now the history books will have to be changed again. :sunglasses:

Got to see the changing of the timelines. Hopefully I'll live long enough to see them change more of the stuff before I'm dead.
