Enter the front of any store that sells clothes, and more often than not, the women's clothing is the first thing that a shopper sees. Now, why is that?

Because women are in reality the ones that does the main shopping...Not arguing with that....

Just trying to make it clear that just because women are the main shoppers it is not always due to all women like to do is shop!

It is due to women are the ones that the men think are suppose to do all their shopping as well.....therefore women shop more due to they are shopping for the whole family...

So why would the stores not cater to the women they are doing the shopping....cause the men suck at shopping for the family...lmao

well men can't shop for women you know that lollllll cause women will just say i don't like the color or don't fit or something or other but if a women shops for a man the man just says thank you so much and accept it lollll right? or maybe they won't get supper lollllllllllllll laugh biggrin

Men vs. Women: Shopping

Women account for over 80 percent of consumer spending, about $5 trillion dollars annually, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. So it’s pretty safe to say that women like to shop. Men, on the other hand, tend to go shopping only when they really need that item. When they do go shopping it is more of a fast mission compared to women, who tend to take their time and socialize. Shopping differs between men and women and it is in a drastic way.

According to the article ‘Men Buy, Women Shop’ “Women are happy to meander through sprawling clothing and accessory collections or detour through the shoe department. They glide up glass escalators past a grand piano, or spray a perfume sample on themselves on their way to, maybe, making a purchase.” The study also titled ‘Men Buy, Women Shop’ done by Wharton Jay H. Baker Retail Initiative and the Verde group showed that women enjoyed shopping more than men. A woman in the study even said “I love shopping.” In my experience

with watching women shop, they seem more invested in the shopping experience on my dimensions. They enjoy they social aspect of going to the store either alone or with friends. Talking to the sales associates and asking for opinions on the how clothes fit and what would look nice with a certain item if with friends they will play dress up for each other to find a “cute” outfit to buy. Theses behaviors differ for men.

When a guy needs something from the store, this is all they go to get. Men don’t want to be in the store longer than necessary. In ‘Men Buy, Women Shop’ a man commented and said “We’re going to this store and we buy it and we leave because we want to do something else.” Most me shop this way because they see going to the store as a task to be done and move on with their day. Men are on a mission when they go to the store and want to be in and out as fast as possible with nothing to distract them.

Though both sexes shop, they differ in the way they shop...

well there you go now that was simple to do right? :) see thats just 1 site of thousands :)thats all you had to do before was look it up:) there you go laugh

You missed my point. You brought up the study. I asked you specifically what it was and what the URL was for it, but you refused to provide it, even though it would have made sense for you to do so. So here, I copied and pasted it for you. I'm guessing that's what you were were talking about?
I guess you missed my point too i said theres a lot of links and told you to Google the subject, as you finally did , and as for providing a link to it Google was way more better as theres so many sayings on the same topic and other studies :) thats why i didn't put the link lollllll laugh biggrin  but it was so fast to find 1 with a Google see how easy that was? have a good day now :)

Hum the reasons the study's show it is women that do most of the shopping is due to they are shopping for the whole family.... Someone has to do the shopping that needs to be done and it has normally all fallen back on the women....

Humm so it seems it is the women that this task falls back on...

Myself, I'm not much of a shopper as far as just shopping when I don't need something..

I'm one that normally knows what I'm looking for and will go get it and get out...

And yeah I do Walmart that way when I go I can get my grociers and what ever else I need in one place...

I'm not a clothes shopper give me my jeans and t-shirts and I'm a happy camper...
well i think see too guys give the women money to shop :) for daily stuff too and guys get bored fast in malls as women love shopping with their friends for hours :) flowerforyou laugh

Hummm no man giving me money I make my own and always have....

Put a man in a sporting good store and watch them spend more then the women do....lmao....
see you said put them in the store we don't need to put a women in the store she walks there freely lolll:) and depends if we need the sports stuff lolllll now thats funny hahaha ok how about women they but tons of shoes? right? lollllll do they need all them? or they don't like to shop for them? lollllll curious lolll or hand bags :) laugh flowerforyou

more women shop than men because of traditional roles.
of course we're in twenty twelve and those stereotypes don't apply to everyone.
like did you know not all women are housewives anymore?!
yes.
yes.
all the women of mingle break all these stereotypes.
you're on a dating site,
aren't you?
now shut up.
quit your bitching.
now now telling a person to shut up is just no need for that and bitching? that is just plain rude :) this is suppose to be a decent respect chat site my friend no need getting upset over nothing :) biggrin

Also women do the majority of the shopping for families in general so of course they are seen as spending the majority. But you think they personally are using the baby food, cat food and litter, dog food, their husband's everythings, the bills, etc.
see now thats the best answer yet:)))flowerforyou biggrin                      Women do most of the shopping for the family and guys work and supply the money:) in family homes:)most of the time :) cheers great answer :) but how about on the weekend in the malls girls day at the malls window shopping stuff like that ? some love it you think? i know i can't spend hours in a mall like some women can you ?

Hate shopping.
Rarely do it.
If I need something for someone else,
that may motivate me to shop.

I would rather give a guy a list.
Then they can't b!tch.
rofl now thats funny if guys ***** on what you buy them then don't buy them stuff lolllll your right send your guy out to buy it himself laugh

Cheer_up, since you brought up the study, I would think you'd want to provide more information about it. At least a link would be helpful. I haven't found the specific study you're talking about here.

Sorry ladies but us aussie chicks do most of the work cause the only muscle that some aussie guys use is the bend of the elbow for the beer to reach the mouth...(jks) don't want them thrown in me to the bottom of the pit... But come on honesty hurts..
http://www.abs.gov.au/ausstats/abs@.nsf/mediareleasesbytitle/368156C4264E4D8ECA2568A9001362E8?OpenDocument Shopping

Between 1992 and 1997 the proportion of Australians who spent time shopping fell from 45% to 41% for those aged 15 and over.

Women were more likely to shop than men, 47% spent time shopping compared with 35% of men.

Women shoppers spent, on average, almost one hour (58 minutes) per day shopping, while men spent around 45 minutes shopping.

i've seen men shop worse then women, pretty boys for their appearence, then u have the man man which u flash a fishing, tools, and any new toy (lawn mower or power tool) i have seen them race to a shop to buy even a new part for that beaut of a car, so men r just a bigger shopper as a women is...
well they did a study and found 83% were women my friend so i think your wrong, Women spend $4 trillion annually and account for 83% of U.S. consumer spending, which makes up two-thirds of the nation's gross national product, according to WomenCertified, a women's consumer advocacy and retail training organization headquartered in Hollywood, Fla., which also worked on the study...but you may get the odd guy that is a pretty boy as you say and shop all weekend or after work all night lolll but most guys give the lady's money to shop :) and guys watch a lot of sports or go and have a beer, while the lady loves her shoe shopping or clothes or whatever else :) but i didn't say theres nothing wrong it i just curious why they love it :) flowerforyou

What was the actual poll/study they did? Who was polled? Gotta provide more information.

look it up if you like its all over the net just cut and paste it, if you want a debate after you find it Write to them by e-mail if you like lollll:) i was just a messenger rofl i never said i agree or don't i just saying what i saw on several sites and true facts in that study :) 6 Mar 2012 ...
