Starcraft 2 does have pumped up graphics! www.starcraft2.com
I hope they balance the game out a bit better. I was a Terran player before, and even I felt medics made marine/medic combinations too powerful. Especially with fully upgraded weapons/armor. Did anyone else find it retarded that several marines with a few medics could take down (even pose a threat) to Battlecruisers/Carriers? I know it won't happen, but they should make some air units (and keep in mind that all the air units in Starcraft are space-travel capable) flying so high that only certain ground-to-air can hit them, or only air-to-air. Warcraft is believable that you are hitting those air units from the ground with arrows, thrown axes, etc., but flying units that can fly way up into orbit shouldn't be able to be hit by marines with guns...even if they are U-238 rounds. Another thing that'd be nice in Blizzard's series of RTS games the ability to move while attacking. I know it's been fixed in Warcraft, but did you ever hate having a marine running away from you when you're Protoss and your Zealot would get right behind him, stop to hit him, but the marine would just get away and then your Zealot would do the same thing? Or wouldn't it be nice as Terran to tell your Marines to fall back, while laying down a suppressive fire (so you're moving in one direction while firing; they could give you a slower movement speed while doing this, like a Footman's Defend ability in Warcraft III). Just some thoughts, I know they won't happen, but it'd be cool if it did. Oh, I guess this is the coolest thing for Terran in Starcraft 2. You can submerge your Supply Depots. |

Diablo II: LoD

OK...I will install the game today and create an account. I'll post the account name here (account name is what you add to friends list, NOT character name).
It will be on US WEST server starting at 10am PST (sorry East Coasters, you'll have to wait, or on the bright side, you get to sleep in a little longer). PLEASE DO NOT BRING YOUR UBER LEVEL 100,000,000 CHARACTER WITH EPIC GEAR WHO'S COMPLETED ALL THE QUESTS. WE ARE NOT LOOKING FOR A RUSH, WE ARE LOOKING FOR A BALANCED GAME WITH EQUAL LEVEL CHARACTERS PLAYING THROUGH AT LEAST NORMAL DIFFICULTY TO FINISH. Of course, you can leave at any time, joining late might keep you from advancing with us, since once a quest is completed in a game, it cannot be completed again (so if you miss killing any of the bosses (Andarial, Duriel, Mephisto, Diablo) you cannot advance to the next act. (If it's not too much trouble, we can probably restart for you, but please don't ask us to do it when Act 1 is nearly over). I WILL MAKE THE GAME AT 10AM PST, AND THERE WILL BE A 15 MINUTE GRACE PERIOD WHERE WE WON'T START LEVEL'ING/QUESTING/ETC. TO WAIT FOR LATE COMERS OR PEOPLE HAVING NETWORK/GAME PROBLEMS. GAME NAME AND PASSWORD WILL BE ANNOUNCED ON THIS THREAD FRIDAY NIGHT. |

Starcraft II will either be great, or suck.
It has to be the same fast action that was in Starcraft I, where you could win more by macro than micro. Warcraft is a Micro'ers game. Starcraft is a Macro'ers game. Starcraft II should continue the tradition, or it won't have the same success as the first one did. |

I agree. I hate Windows and it's vulnerabilities. I think as an OS it's fine, I prefer it to any of the Mac OS's. Linux is fine too, but it just slows down the hardware, or the hardware isn't built for it (however you want to phrase it).

To those who listed Final Fantasy Tactics...
...would it be an RPG or a turn-based strategy game? It definitely has RPG elements, but it's gameplay is more turn-based strategy, wouldn't you think? That's why I didn't list it in my fav's. But, if it is by consensus and RPG, then that's one of my top favs too. |

OK, I haven't played in a looooong time, but I'm thinking of starting up again.
Is anyone else up for starting up again from beginning to end of Normal (maybe some on Nightmare and Hell if we get into it enough) over the weekend? If so, let me know, I'll re-install on my comp, and we'll get started. Might be fun if we can get a party of 3 or more together for a day of demon smashing! We'd just have to quest together, and make sure to not complete other quests while a player goes AFK or disconnects (since if that happens they don't get credit for it unless they were in game too). I'm pretty much up for playing any class, though I prefer the sorceress (high damage!). I can tank as a Barbarian or Pal, and I'd say I'm the worst with the Druid (I never got good drops with him). I did get an epic Silks of the Victor once with an Amazon (500 Armor + a bunch of stat bonuses). |

1. Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne (with over 1500 games played, how could I not name this my number one)
2. Starcraft: Brood War (Probably played around 500 games of this in my high school days) 3. Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness (Didn't really like the expansion, but this game got me into RTS to begin with) I know, they're all Blizzard titles. What can I say, Blizzard got the formula right, stuck with it, and now it's just perfect for someone who grew up playing it. |

My favorite PSP titles are (in order):
1. Tekken 5 Dark Resurrection (graphics are kick @$$, loading is non-existent, plays just like the console version, downloadable content) 2. Final Fantasy Tactics (no one I know plays so, I don't get to use the multi-player, but I loved this on PS1) 3. DJ Max (not as good as Japanese games, but it's still fun) 4. Lumines 1 & 2 5. Initial D (just as good as the arcade without the wheel, loading times are reasonable, the soundtrack is good for the type of racing you're doing) 6. Loco Roco (it's fun for a while...) I sold the rest of my PSP games. I want to pick up Castlevania for it, since it's Dracula X and SotN. |

I guess it's a case by case then. I've called about a bunch of illegals outside of my work area (it's an industrial area) and they wait from about 5am til about 10am for work. Some of them get it, some of them don't.
It's just not great seeing it on the commute to work...all of them lined up outside on the street. A food stand comes by in the morning for them. I mean, I do feel for these people, they need the money, they're willing to work for it, but there has got to be some other way for them. |

It's not really the touch screen I enjoy on the DS. It's the online play.
That and more people I know play DS multi-player than PSP. PSP is good for solo-gaming (IMO because not many people around me play multi-player PSP), although there are games like Tekken that work well Ad-hoc. I'm not raving about the touch-screen. Just praising the multi-player. |
