ahh, that's refreshing...I don't like it when geniuses post after simpletons like me.:)

You must leave now, take what you need, you think will last.
But whatever you wish to keep, you better grab it fast.
Yonder stands your orphan with his gun,
Crying like a fire in the sun.
Look out the saints are comin' through
And it's all over now, Baby Blue.

The highway is for gamblers, better use your sense.
Take what you have gathered from coincidence.
The empty-handed painter from your streets
Is drawing crazy patterns on your sheets.
This sky, too, is folding under you
And it's all over now, Baby Blue.

All your seasick sailors, they are rowing home.
All your reindeer armies, are all going home.
The lover who just walked out your door
Has taken all his blankets from the floor.
The carpet, too, is moving under you
And it's all over now, Baby Blue.

Leave your stepping stones behind, something calls for you.
Forget the dead you've left, they will not follow you.
The vagabond who's rapping at your door
Is standing in the clothes that you once wore.
Strike another match, go start anew
And it's all over now, Baby Blue.

Well, this post might be a repeat idea...but vista is pretty much incompatible with a whole bunch of older software. Very disappointing.

I'm still recovering from the worst day of my life. Remember that scene from Ghost where the demons come after Sam's foe? Well I felt like he probably did. I was having a nervous breakdown and blacking out from drinking too much coffee.

Hang in there...I made it through that unscathed.

California...a lot of rich, ignorant snobs...at least in the Bay Area.

He's got one hell of an imagination. He is a social-commentator...he gets to the real nitty gritty. He is concise and profound. Perhaps, most of all, he creates a sense of awe.

You have a good point. There is a lot of good music out there...hell I like some Tupac even though I come from a different sub-culture.
But I think it says a lot about a person....we all know who the major players are...they wouldn't have got that far without being the best.
Popular music has become more about advertising than getting to the heart. But, true value is the only thing that lasts.

Every band seems to play some trash. Some bands, like the Grateful Dead, played tons of trash....but there was no comparison to the genius they had at certain gigs.

Bob Dylan....he's like a prophet

Phish...like the Grateful Dead, lots of trash, untouchable genius

Way to go Steve! For me, what helped was getting around clean and sober people. I've made it six months to date. Keep it up. Oh, and BTW doesn't it feel better to say that than to have a drink!!!

Get around those who don't drink or use...that is what helped me. I have been clean and sober for six months.

There is nothing like music...it's a human connection. Personally, I put a lot of value on someone's musical tastes...some songs really get to my heart...and that is the essence of who I am.
But, I don't find that others put as much value on it. I mean, when I tell someone I love Bob Dylan...you know, if that doesn't mean something to them, then fahgetabahdit.:)

Looks...they are very important. A picture is worth a thousand words. But, that's just the first impression. Someone's cultural background (or sub-culture) is very important for the long term. Similar tastes in food and music...high up there.
