Rather than making two seperate threads, I'll put two of my older poems here- feel free to critique or just say how it makes you feel, I won't take offense! happy

"The Awakening"

The first spring sun
is setting on the
winter of my heart--
The sleeping time has ended!

Jubilant, I step forth
naked, into the
melting snows,
no longer hiding from the chill.

For I have fire within!
A passion fed from
the spring of the soul,
Filling me with living
energy. An Awareness.

My Awakening

----

"Demons Reflected"

Have you ever looked within?
Past shadows, cobwebs of doubt?

Were you afraid of what you found,
my little lamb? I will be honest,
the first time I peered into the
looking glass

I was horrified.

If you dare, break the fourth wall-
gaze into the blinding light, and I tell you-

Watch out!
There is a snake coiled there-
It will strike at you!
snap at you, bite at you!
If it gets the chance.

Its poison is lethal,
but with every death
is rebirth.

I feel that you could post a pic. of yourself taking a wee if you felt is was beautiful- it is your choice, it doesn't mean I can't avert my eyes because I don't want to look at it. Most would not agree with me, but hey, to each their own (and... yay for following the rules and then venturing out to create our own utopias?)

Indeed, we do all need silly and thoughtless moments to stay leveled!

The Breastfeeding "problem," has created extreme feminist groups like "the militant breast-feeding cult," which to me is just as extreme and negative an outlook as that of the groups who are trying to lock breastfeeding women in rooms away from everyone else's eyes (extreme over-dramatization). Healthy balance, tolerance, and acceptance is a must here- can we all understand that a baby needs to eat when a baby needs to eat? laugh

My only addition to any of the other ideas mentioned is to sit down with your love and think about the things that make the two of you "you". What sort of things brought you together? What do you love to do together, and what keeps you unique and speical? Incorporate those things into photos as well. Beautiful scenery and amazing lighting only goes so far in front of a fountain, unless somebody dosen't like water! Let your love shine through in any of the pictures and they will be beautiful! Congrats!

Hello Spider, and everyone else who posted:

Some people, like Spider, may find that the human body is obscene and needs to be covered, due to upbringing, religious background, etc.

I personally am not in that boat and I find the human form sacred and beautiful, though it is certainly something that can be abused (in more than one way). But breastfeeding is a natural and HEALTHY instinct, and sitting on a dirty toilet seat in a public restroom to protect peoples eyes is a bit excessive. Many mothers are proud of their relationships with their young and see it as a necessary part of who they are. I feel like this is another topic that will always be fought over but a resonable resolution will never be reached. Where is the freedom in that?
