Hi Britty, my name is Brynda, friends call me Bry or Bryn. I was raised in church but was a very rebellious teen and didn't need those hypocrites in my life. So, in my "wisdom" I walked away from God and church. I got involved with drugs & alcohol and found myself addicted to both. I finally hit rock bottom in 1995 and cried out to Jesus. The minute I gave my life to Him, I was instantly cured of all addictions! I had no withdrawals or relapses, I've been clean & sober since March 1995. I have a burden for those dealing with various addictions and am involved with recovery ministry as well as prison ministry. When I look back on what God has brought me through and how He continues to bless me I am in awe. What a MIGHTY God we serve!!! Praise the Lord. |

When mountain walls confront the way. Why sit and weep? Arise and say "Be thou removed!" and they shall be By the power of God cast in the sea. ........ Lovely Laura, and Debs - "Refreshment for our Souls" - He certainly does keep us refreshed. Bry - yes, we can be thankful that He is always there, and has promised to Never Leave or forsake us. |

Wow, where do I start! I have so many things to praise God for! First for being who He is, my father in heaven Second for sending Jesus to us and the Holy Spirit I praise Him for where I live, my family, friends, and my fiance. I even praise Him for giving me fibromyalgia, it allows me to show others that being a Christian doesn't mean we live pain free perfect lives, but that we know where our strength comes from. Praise the Lord. Congratulations dear sister. |

I thank God and praise Him for getting me out of religion and into relationship. I thank Him for setting me from alcohol, pot and smoking. He set me free and completely took the desire away almost 9 years ago. People who have known me for a long time in the church cannot believe when I tell them I use to use. They can't see it, because that is not who I am anymore. Praise God, He is so good! I'm thankful for His mercy and grace! Amen |

Welcome MissJ and Imsingle, Glad to see you. To answer your post I would like to say that a person is never to old to look for a mate. It's how young you feel in your heart that should govern that. Well put!!! |

I enjoy poetry as well as literature and Emily Bronte is amongst my favorite authors. No coward soul No coward soul is mine, No trembler in the worlds storm-troubled sphere: I see Heavens glories shine, And faith shines equal, arming me from fear. O God within my breast. Almighty, ever-present Deity! Life -- that in me has rest, As I -- Undying Life -- have power in Thee! Vain are the thousand creeds That move mens hearts: unutterably vain; Worthless as withered weeds, Or idlest froth amid the boundless main, To waken doubt in one Holding so fast by Thine infinity; So surely anchored on The steadfast Rock of immortality. With wide-embracing love Thy Spirit animates eternal years, Pervades and broods above, Changes, sustains, dissolves, creates, and rears. Though earth and man were gone, And suns and universes ceased to be, And Thou wert left alone, Every existence would exist in Thee. There is not room for Death, Nor atom that his might could render void: Thou -- Thou art Being and Breath, And what Thou art may never be destroyed. |

Autumn Song
Poem by Dante Alighieri Know'st thou not at the fall of the leaf How the heart feels a languid grief Laid on it for a covering, And how sleep seems a goodly thing In Autumn at the fall of the leaf? And how the swift beat of the brain Falters because it is in vain, In Autumn at the fall of the leaf Knowest thou not? and how the chief Of joys seems--not to suffer pain? Know'st thou not at the fall of the leaf How the soul feels like a dried sheaf Bound up at length for harvesting, And how death seems a comely thing In Autumn at the fall of the leaf? |

Love and a Question by Robert Frost
A stranger came to the door at eve, And he spoke the bridegroom fair. He bore a green-white stick in his hand, And, for all burden, care. He asked with the eyes more than the lips For a shelter for the night, And he turned and looked at the road afar Without a window light. The bridegroom came forth into the porch With, 'Let us look at the sky, And question what of the night to be, Stranger, you and I.' The woodbine leaves littered the yard, The woodbine berries were blue, Autumn, yes, winter was in the wind; 'Stranger, I wish I knew.' Within, the bride in the dusk alone Bent over the open fire, Her face rose-red with the glowing coal And the thought of the heart's desire. The bridegroom looked at the weary road, Yet saw but her within, And wished her heart in a case of gold And pinned with a silver pin. The bridegroom thought it little to give A dole of bread, a purse, A heartfelt prayer for the poor of God, Or for the rich a curse; But whether or not a man was asked To mar the love of two By harboring woe in the bridal house, The bridegroom wished he knew. |

Fed Upon the Finest of the Wheat Frederick A. Graves (1856-1927) Hungry, Lord, for Thy Word of truth, Sitting at my Savior’s feet; Rising, gleaning, just like Ruth, Feed me on the finest of the wheat. Chorus: Bread of life it is now to me, Honey, milk and meat; In Thy love I will ever be Fed upon the finest of the wheat. Work for the Master I will do, Trusting in His strength so great; Living in His pastures new, Feed me on the finest of the wheat. Then to the harvest let us go, Bugles sounding no retreat; Workers for Jesus, He wants you Fed upon the finest of the wheat. |

Here are a few 1-line bible messages:
Don't let your worries get the best of you; remember, Moses started out as a basket case. It is easier to preach ten sermons than it is to live one. When you get to your wit's end, you'll find God lives there. Opportunity may knock once, but temptation bangs on your front door forever. Some minds are like concrete thoroughly mixed up and permanently set. Peace starts with a smile. Be ye fishers of men. You catch them - He'll clean them. Coincidence is when God chooses to remain anonymous. Don't put a question mark where God put a period. Forbidden fruits create many jams. God doesn't call the qualified, He qualifies the called. God grades on the cross, not the curve. God prefers 'fruit of the spirit' over a 'religious nut!' God promises a safe landing, not a calm passage. He who angers you, controls you! If God is your Co-pilot - swap seats! Don't give God instructions -- just report for duty! The task ahead of us is never as great as the Power behind us. The Will of God never takes you to where the Grace of God will not protect you. We don't change the message, the message changes us. You can tell how big a person is by what it takes to discourage him. The best mathematical equation I have ever seen: 1 cross + 3 nails = 4 given. |

Religion is typically a way for man to pull God down to him, Faith is Gods way of lifting man up to him! just a personal belief, not trying to cram it down anyones throat! yes, Marty I have heard that from others too. It kind of makes sense. |

A good thought there Tom (Sharp). For the benefit of any new folks would you mind sharing a little bit about your faith? I go to a non-demoninational church which is fortunate to be led by a very well grounded Christian man. His love for the Lord is so apparent in all areas of his life. I do not feel a Christian has to attend church although I do feel it is to our benefit to fellowship with other believers because God is interested in relationships, with Him and with one another, and it has helped me in my Christian walk; although I have also valued the time I have spent over the years simply with God alone. |
