This is beyond horrifying. I have two beautiful grandkids, one is a beautiful girl. I used to talk to him on here, am amazed I got played and thought of him as a "friend" -- even after 17 years working in the prison system and reading and typing some of the stuff I did there, I thought I had better radar than that. He was good - really good. He did tell me he studied psychology for 7 years (if this was true), could have made it easier for him slip through to detect and easier to pick targets. How sickening. So glad you are on top of this Charles.

divorced at 29, about 9 years and 362 days too long. freaking drunk!!!

There is a young girl (16) who has cancer, osteosarcoma. It has cost her a leg, and about half of one lung and part of her other lung. Apparently this cancer doesn't respond to chemo or radiation, has to be cut out. She was only given about 9 months to live when she was diagnosed over a year ago. She is an amazing girl, a real fighter. She is homeschooling, can't be around other kids for germs, etc. She has an amazing attitude. She lives in Oregon. My daughter knows her family. The town has done fundraising for her.

Please keep Natalie in your thoughts and prayers. She deserves to have as much life as possible.

She was even given a cameo appearance on the show "Grimm", has shot hoops with the Portland Trail Blazers (they paid for her family to stay in a hotel, etc.) and signed her T-shirt and she got to meet her favorite players. She has a bucket list. Friends took her out to toilet paper a house, etc.

Anyways, just wanted to ask you to think of Natalie when you say your prayers. She apparently just got a little good news, she has been going to Houston to a clinic for treatment and her left lung is clear (she only has about 1/2 of it left), and the right lung is "stable" (part of it has been cut out) so they didn't have to cut more out. Hopefully she can keep going and surprise the doctors.

Make sure you are up-to-date on your pertussis shots too - {Tdap) --only need one in your adult life, as whooping cough is now making its rounds big time. Have 5 cases in our small community right now.

So true Eileen. So sad that their mom's family will never ever know where her body is, her husband took that secret to the grave with him, so sad for her parents and family. I think it is so awesome that the local police and community came together and the father could not be buried with the boys after the horrendous acts he committed on them.

There has been an investigation into the 911 dispatcher too, he said he didn't realize it was a serious threat. He was asking questions like what color car, etc., after he already had the address, etc. The social worker was trying to stress the urgency and he was not responding. So sad, the police likely couldn't have stopped him, the house was soaked in gas, but still, no excuse for not responding sooner.

Just makes me sick, these poor beautiful little boys.

They were to have a supervised visit with their dad on Sunday and he pushed the social worker away and slammed the door, took a hatchet to the boys heads and necks and blew the house up. The boys were 5 and 7. This is the same Powell that took his family on a "camping" trip in the freezing cold in Utah 2 years ago and his wife has never been seen since. His missing wife's parents had custody of the boys and he had supervised visitation only.

The social worker called 911 - took the dispatcher something like 16 minutes to send a responder, had all kinds of questions, etc., about 34 minutes to get someone their - the house was engulfed in flames by then. She told him she smelled gas, etc., too. (He had sprayed gasoline all over the walls of the house.)

Powell's dad is in jail for child porn and voyeurism, I hope the inmates are "showing" him what they think of him for raising such a good son!!!!

Powell's family wanted to bury him next to the boys, but the maternal grandparents of the boys didn't want that to happen. Some local police and others hurriedly bought up the adjoining cemetary plots so that there would be no way he could be buried near the boys after what he had done to them.

Please take a minute to say a prayer for these poor little boys. What horrible little lives they had, and what a horrid way to die. They deserved so much better. Watching American Bandstand on Saturdays with Grandpa. (He died 1 week short of his 97th birthday.) He had his mind and lived independently up to the end. He never had a cross word to say about anyone. I was about 35 when he died and even when I would stop by for a visit on a Saturday, he would sometimes turn on American Bandstand for a bit and we would still watch it.

He was an incredible man. He died in 1984 and I still miss him dearly.
