This is a "Christian" forum! The Gospel will not be compromised here! If you don't agree with God's Word, the General Religion Forum is next door! Exactly! Now will you take your pagan doctrines and be gone? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hades#Realm_of_Hades |

Here's a simple test to try. Find the run menu and type into the box "regedit" and hit enter. If you can't find the run menu, search your harddrive for it and try dbl-clicking it. If you get the insufficient permissions error, search the HD for regedit and copy it to the desktop. Rename the copy on the desktop and change the extension from .exe to .bat or .com. and then run that copy from your desktop. If it runs with an extension or .bat or .com but NOT .exe, you probrably have a virus. This sounds like a virus that was around many years ago... I see Default REG_SG Registration Entries ...and I dont seem to be able to find a way to send that to my desktop. It was a test to see if you got the "insufficient permission" error. There was a virus many years back that would prevent a person from running regedit as well as updating or removing anti-virus programs. If you can run regedit, you don't have that virus. |

And another thing Peter. When the Lord called Herod a fox, He wasn't insulting Him, He was suitably describing His character. Likewise when the Lord called the Pharisees 'whitewashed sepulchers', He wasn't insulting them but stating in graphic language the state of their being. He never stopped loving them, even when He was angrily grieved at their hardness of heart. However, they were offended at Him because they didn't like the truth. Likewise with my comments about you. If you consider them insulting, that is your problem in that you have judged me as one who insults you. Peace to you in Jesus Name Elihu, for me to be insulted, I must first seek the praises of men which I do NOT! That does not mean I do not know what your intentions were and continue to be. I should not have to tell someone with 20+ years of ministry that there are separate words used for earth and the world. The word(s) translated into "earth" are varied in meanings. You are the one who said the flood story depicted a world-wide flood, not I. To state that with certainty is false im my eyes when the Bible does not support that view when taken in context with Psalm 104. But anyways, back to the myth of Hades. What Biblical support do you have for believing and supporting a Greek myth??? |

Well its a good thing I have the Holy Spirit to lead me into all Truth and I don't have to rely on fairy tales. I can trust Him, and will trust Him to do exactly as He said He would do and that is this; if I lean not on my own understanding and trust in the Lord with all my heart as I commit my way unto Him, He will continue to reveal the Truth to me. So far I can see that you are leaning on your own understanding for the revelation of God is something you are presently arguing with, and until you humble yourself under His mighty hand you will continue to be deceived and go about deceiving. Peace to you in Jesus Name Get a revelation. Elihu 1 Corinthians 4:3-7 New International Version (NIV) 3 I care very little if I am judged by you or by any human court; indeed, I do not even judge myself. 4 My conscience is clear, but that does not make me innocent. It is the Lord who judges me. 5 Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait until the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of the heart. At that time each will receive their praise from God. 6 Now, brothers and sisters, I have applied these things to myself and Apollos for your benefit, so that you may learn from us the meaning of the saying, “Do not go beyond what is written.” Then you will not be puffed up in being a follower of one of us over against the other. 7 For who makes you different from anyone else? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as though you did not? |

Genesis 7:1-24 New King James Version (NKJV) The Great Flood 1Then the Lord said to Noah, “Come into the ark, you and all your household, because I have seen that you are righteous before Me in this generation. 2 You shall take with you seven each of every clean animal, a male and his female; two each of animals that are unclean, a male and his female; 3 also seven each of birds of the air, male and female, to keep the species alive on the face of all the earth. 4 For after seven more days I will cause it to rain on the earth forty days and forty nights, and I will destroy from the face of the earth all living things that I have made.” 5 And Noah did according to all that the Lord commanded him. 6 Noah was six hundred years old when the floodwaters were on the earth. 7 So Noah, with his sons, his wife, and his sons’ wives, went into the ark because of the waters of the flood. 8 Of clean animals, of animals that are unclean, of birds, and of everything that creeps on the earth, 9 two by two they went into the ark to Noah, male and female, as God had commanded Noah. 10 And it came to pass after seven days that the waters of the flood were on the earth. 11 In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, on that day all the fountains of the great deep were broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened. 12 And the rain was on the earth forty days and forty nights. 13 On the very same day Noah and Noah’s sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth, and Noah’s wife and the three wives of his sons with them, entered the ark— 14 they and every beast after its kind, all cattle after their kind, every creeping thing that creeps on the earth after its kind, and every bird after its kind, every bird of every sort. 15 And they went into the ark to Noah, two by two, of all flesh in which is the breath of life. 16 So those that entered, male and female of all flesh, went in as God had commanded him; and the Lord shut him in. 17 Now the flood was on the earth forty days. The waters increased and lifted up the ark, and it rose high above the earth. 18 The waters prevailed and greatly increased on the earth, and the ark moved about on the surface of the waters. 19 And the waters prevailed exceedingly on the earth, and all the high hills under the whole heaven were covered. 20 The waters prevailed fifteen cubits upward, and the mountains were covered. 21 And all flesh died that moved on the earth: birds and cattle and beasts and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth, and every man. 22 All in whose nostrils was the breath of the spirit[a] of life, all that was on the dry land, died. 23 So He destroyed all living things which were on the face of the ground: both man and cattle, creeping thing and bird of the air. They were destroyed from the earth. Only Noah and those who were with him in the ark remained alive. 24 And the waters prevailed on the earth one hundred and fifty days. Peter Pan, what part of this passage of scripture tells you there was no world wide flood? If the account in Psalm 104 is a creation story, how is it the waters are covering the earth again in Genesis 7 when in Psalm 104 the Lord says it will not happen again. Dear Peter Pan,it appears that like your name sake you are away with the fairies on this one! Get a revelation. Elihu Gee whiz, why is it that so many people like to misrepresent my words? For those who trouble understanding modern English, I'll repost what I wrote earlier. What makes it false is that the Bible does NOT specify a world-wide flood. Get out your concordance and learn something that I'm sure you didn't know.
All I said was that the Bible did not specify a world-wide flood, I never said it never happened. It may very well have covered the entire Earth and the Psalm is incorrect or the Psalm could be true and the account in Genesis was mistranslated. BTW, don't think I missed your numerous lame attempts at insulting me. Proverbs 14:15 King James Version (KJV) 15 The simple believeth every word: but the prudent man looketh well to his going. |

Peter Pan, Your statement here is simply ridiculous. "Now, if you want me to believe in your "hell", you must first convince me that Hades and Tartaroos are NOT pagan myths... This line of reasoning of yours is faulty to begin with. If there is a pagan myth about eight people surviving a world wide flood, does that then make the flood story in the Bible false? If there are pagan myths about the reality of the devil, does that make the Biblical record of his existence false. Your reasoning makes the pagan myths the arbitrator of truth. Your reasoning is such that if any truth from God's Word is found in a pagan myth, then it is no longer true. Ridiculous. Hell is real because the Bible says so, regardless of whether a pagan myth does or does not agree. Your focus is in the wrong place. Get your eyes off pagan myths as they are irrelevant to God's truth. Hell is in the Bible. Check out the Scriptures Cerise posted earlier. Get out your concordance and do some proper study instead of looking at pagan myths. Peace to you in Jesus Name. Elihu Hell is NOT in the Bible. Show me one verse where hell has NOT been translated from sheol, Gehenna, Hades or Tataroos. Show me one verse where the Lord's sabbath can be rightly changed to the pagan sun god's day of worship (Sunday). Show me one verse where human sacrifice could attone for sins. My "reasoning" comes from God's word, NOT the doctrines of men. Sorry, but the Bible says that people will turn aside to myths and that heresies would be secretly introduced. 2 Peter 2:1-3 New International Version (NIV) False Teachers and Their Destruction 2 But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them —bringing swift destruction on themselves. 2 Many will follow their depraved conduct and will bring the way of truth into disrepute. 3 In their greed these teachers will exploit you with fabricated stories. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping. Peter, you must use caution in refuting the Word of God and certainly declaring it as being filled with myths. If you have decided that the bible is untrue, then you are in the wrong forum. You should return to the religious debate room. Christians are not doubtful of God's Truth. The Word says to "rightly divid the word of truth" not to dissect God's Word for the soul purpose of searching out inconsistences. And not to accuse the brethren. That's satans job. If you love the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob then don't cast doubts on those who trust the wholeness of His inspired Word. The Word of God is given for instruction in godly living and for correction against ungodliness. Not for inciting disputes. Your "personal" opinion of "hell" should not override the warnings Jesus gave men on the seriousness of that "place". I believe this passage of scripture may be applied to your argumentive ploys. Romans 14: Principles of Conscience 1, Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations. 2, For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs. 3, Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him. 4, Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand. 5, One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. 6, He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks. 7, For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself. 8, For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's. 9, For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living. 10, But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. 11, For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. 12, So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God. 13, Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way. 14, I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean. 15, But if thy brother be grieved with thy meat, now walkest thou not charitably. Destroy not him with thy meat, for whom Christ died. 16, Let not then your good be evil spoken of: 17, For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. 18, For he that in these things serveth Christ is acceptable to God, and approved of men. 19, Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another. 20, For meat destroy not the work of God. All things indeed are pure; but it is evil for that man who eateth with offence. 21, It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor any thing whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak. 22, Hast thou faith? have it to thyself before God. Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth. 23, And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin. Cerise, I've said it before and I'll say it again. I do not refute the "Word of God", only the doctrines of men. "Filled with myths" is your words, NOT mine. Please don't bear false witness against me. Pay attention to what I write. If, the Bible were 100% true, there would be no need to "rightly divide the word of truth", correct? If the bible were 100% true, there would be no need of a warning to NOT change the Book of Revelation. If the Bible were 100% true, Yeshua would not have spoken out against the "Law of Moses" nor called the scribes and Pharisees hypocrites. |

... Psalm 104:5-10 King James Version (KJV) 5 Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever. 6 Thou coveredst it with the deep as with a garment: the waters stood above the mountains. 7 At thy rebuke they fled; at the voice of thy thunder they hasted away. 8 They go up by the mountains; they go down by the valleys unto the place which thou hast founded for them. 9Thou hast set a bound that they may not pass over; that they turn not again to cover the earth. 10 He sendeth the springs into the valleys, which run among the hills. ey Peter, That scripture you gave actually describes the world wide flood. Read it carefully! Here it is again in the New King James just in case you cant understand ancient English. Psalm 104:5-10 New King James Version (NKJV) 5 You who laid the foundations of the earth, So that it should not be moved forever, 6 You covered it with the deep as with a garment; The waters stood above the mountains. 7 At Your rebuke they fled; At the voice of Your thunder they hastened away. 8 They went up over the mountains; They went down into the valleys, To the place which You founded for them. 9 You have set a boundary that they may not pass over, That they may not return to cover the earth. 10 He sends the springs into the valleys; They flow among the hills. Note verse 5 and 6. The Scripture is referring to the earth that God laid the foundations of. And then it says that He covered it with the deep and the waters covered the mountains. Then in verse 7 He caused the deep waters to flee away and He set a boundary for them that they may never flood the whole earth again. And if you have at all studied geology, what you find world wide is sedimentary layers that bear witness to the fact that the flood happened. Every continent on earth has got untold examples of deep sedimentary layers that have been formed by water. Precisely what you would expect from a world wide flood; world wide evidence. Get a revelation. Elihu Hey Elihu, Those verses actually describes the creation. Had you used your concordance, you would have seen that "artz" (earth) has multiple meanings throughout Genesis. |

Hey Peter, Just because the pagans have some awareness of spiritual realities doesn't negate the truth. Many pagan cultures have among their 'myths' accounts of the Great Flood of Noah's time. That doesn't make the Flood a falsehood. You have found some pagan accounts of hell and now you think all references to hell are pagan. That is a faulty logic and does not stand up to the revelation of Scripture. Let your mind be renewed by the Word of God and don't doubt it. Even when the pagans agree with it, we should rejoice that there is still some of God's truth out among the pagans. Nor do I fear hell, for I have absolute assurance of salvation. Absence of fear of hell is not our measure of truth on the matter. God's word is truth and as Cerise's list of scriptures declare the matter, no more argument need be made. Simply believe. Yours in Christ Elihu Which pagan, spiritual "reality" are you refering to? X-mas? Easter? Sunday worship? Repetitious prayer? Reverance to the cross (idolatry)? 2 Kings 17:7-15 King James Version (KJV) 7 For so it was, that the children of Israel had sinned against the Lord their God, which had brought them up out of the land of Egypt, from under the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and had feared other gods, 8 And walked in the statutes of the heathen, whom the Lord cast out from before the children of Israel, and of the kings of Israel, which they had made. 9 And the children of Israel did secretly those things that were not right against the Lord their God, and they built them high places in all their cities, from the tower of the watchmen to the fenced city. 10 And they set them up images and groves in every high hill, and under every green tree: 11 And there they burnt incense in all the high places, as did the heathen whom the Lord carried away before them; and wrought wicked things to provoke the Lord to anger: 12 For they served idols, whereof the Lord had said unto them, Ye shall not do this thing. 13 Yet the Lord testified against Israel, and against Judah, by all the prophets, and by all the seers, saying, Turn ye from your evil ways, and keep my commandments and my statutes, according to all the law which I commanded your fathers, and which I sent to you by my servants the prophets. 14 Notwithstanding they would not hear, but hardened their necks, like to the neck of their fathers, that did not believe in the Lord their God. 15 And they rejected his statutes, and his covenant that he made with their fathers, and his testimonies which he testified against them; and they followed vanity, and became vain, and went after the heathen that were round about them, concerning whom the Lord had charged them, that they should not do like them. Now, if you want me to believe in your "hell", you must first convince me that Hades and Tartaroos are NOT pagan myths... 2 Timothy 4:3-5 King James Version (KJV) 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. 5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. |

I still don't fear "hell" (a pagan myth)... Revelation 21:8 King James Version (KJV) 8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. Christ died to save you from hell all you have to do is ask our Lord Jesus for salvation with full faith "belief" that He died was buried and rose for you. John 1:11-13 New International Version (NIV) 11 He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. 12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— 13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God. 1 John 3:22-24 New International Version (NIV) 22 and receive from him anything we ask, because we keep his commands and do what pleases him. 23 And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us. 24 The one who keeps God’s commands lives in him, and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us. Now, what was Jesus' name? Yehoshua or Yehoshua: "the LORD is salvation," Moses' successor, also the name of a number of Isr. Original Word: יְהוֹשׁ֫וּעַ Transliteration: Yehoshua or Yehoshua Phonetic Spelling: (yeh-ho-shoo'-ah) Short Definition: Joshua "the LORD is salvation".... Now that's a name I can believe in... |

Dear CeriseRose, You gave the following as support for your pre-trib rapture theory. "I will shorten this reply by giving some scripture. .The Rapture will happen before the Tribulation. • 1 Thessalonians 5:9 • Revelation 3:10 The Second Coming will happen at the end of the Tribulation. • Revelation 6-19 " A closer examination of these scriptures is needed by you and others who use this to "prove their point" for there is actually nothing in any of them that give even a hint of a pre-trib rapture followed by a second event which you call the Second Coming. 1 Thessalonians 5:9 New King James Version (NKJV) 9 For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, There is nothing in this verse that mentions anything about the timing of our gathering to Him. Nor does anything in this verse even mention the tribulation. What on earth is going on here. The wrath of God in not the tribulation. Tribulations have never been God's wrath on His people, they have always been the persecution of the saints brought about by evil men under the influence of the devil. The devil certainly has brought tribulation upon the saints and in the end of the age he will do his worst. Jesus said that in the world we will have tribulation, but be of good cheer, He has overcome the world and the devil and we too shall overcome by the word of our testimony, the blood of the lamb and loving our lives not, even unto death. Revelation 3:10 New King James Version (NKJV) 10 Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth. This is simply a scripture taken out of context. This verse is part of a message given to the church in Philadelphia. It has nothing to do with the end of the age. To take scriptures like this out of their context is simply cut and paste theology, which can be used to support anything you want. I have no problem with your statement that the Second Coming is after the Great Tribulation. However, to separate the rapture from the Second Coming can not be substantiated by proper exegesis. Hear again the words of Jesus. Mark 13:24-27 24 “But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; 25 the stars of heaven will fall, and the powers in the heavens will be shaken. 26 Then they will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. 27 And then He will send His angels, and gather together His elect from the four winds, from the farthest part of earth to the farthest part of heaven. Note that He sends His angels to gather us all together after the Great Tribulation of those end days. Dear Cerise, I don't doubt your sincerity, but you are sincerely wrong in your interpretation. You have also been careless in your use of God's Word, not reading carefully the context of the scriptures and also making huge leaps of logic as you apply the interpretations of man to God's Holy Writ. Beware of private interpretations of the Word. When it has a plain meaning, don't go beyond it and you will find yourself being taught by God and not by man. Its a pity that after some excellent post of yours that you should fall into this false message that spreads like cancer in the Body of Christ and is setting countless people up for the false hope of being out of here before it all gets bad. There are many false prophets proclaiming this heresy, and that is another sign Jesus said to watch out for towards the end of the age. 2 Peter 2:1 But there were also false prophets among the people ... Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping. 4 For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but sent them to hell,[a] putting them in chains of darkness[.b] to be held for judgment; Footnotes: a.2 Peter 2:4 Greek Tartarus b.2 Peter 2:4 Some manuscripts in gloomy dungeons What we have here is scripture describing exactly what it is being done to itself. Pretty arrogant if you ask me. Tartarus is a Greek myth, a made up story. People will preach this myth as if it were true and claim "God is just". God is also merciful and Love. Yeshua commanded to love even your enemy, yet soooo many people rejoice in the thought that someone would be tormented forever and ever. (it's a MYTH people!) If any one of you has the feeling that the "sinners" get what they deserve, then you have not love and your heart should convict you of this. |

... As for the advice to follow your heart, I could not agree with that at all. In our hearts are all manner of things that are not right in God's eyes. I could feel in my heart that some body should die, but should I go out and kill them. I could feel like doing all manner of sin, but I am not to be led by feelings, but by the Holy Spirit of God and He will not lead me to sin and God's Word tells us what sin is. Certainly everybody has their own moral values. But it is not our values that count. It is what God says that counts. God gave us His laws in the Bible and we all like sheep have gone astray, each to his own ways.... If you have feelings in your heart to kill or do anything else immoral than you need to repent. You should know that lusting after someone in your heart is equated to adultery, so wishing someone dead is just as bad if not worse. Jeremiah 31:32-34 New International Version (NIV) 32 It will not be like the covenant I made with their ancestors when I took them by the hand to lead them out of Egypt, because they broke my covenant, though I was a husband to them,” declares the Lord. 33 “This is the covenant I will make with the people of Israel after that time,” declares the Lord. “I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people. 34 No longer will they teach their neighbor, or say to one another, ‘Know the Lord,’ because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest,” declares the Lord. “For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.” Hebrews 8:9-12 New International Version (NIV) 9 It will not be like the covenant I made with their ancestors when I took them by the hand to lead them out of Egypt, because they did not remain faithful to my covenant, and I turned away from them, declares the Lord. 10 This is the covenant I will establish with the people of Israel after that time, declares the Lord. I will put my laws in their minds and write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people. 11 No longer will they teach their neighbor, or say to one another, ‘Know the Lord,’ because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest. 12 For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more. ” God's law is written on the hearts of all men... Romans 2:28-29 New International Version (NIV) 28 A person is not a Jew who is one only outwardly, nor is circumcision merely outward and physical. 29 No, a person is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is circumcision of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the written code. Such a person’s praise is not from other people, but from God. |

I would follow my heart, but that's just me. I've never been one to seek the praises of other humans... As for you, you seem to know the answer to your own question. My opinion should not matter, nor should anyone else's. Matters of the heart are best decided by the primary partie(s) so there are no regrets or no one to "blame" except yourself. If you think your choices may be wrong, then repent. The true meaning of repent is a change of thinking, something which is not always easy if you feel your thinking is correct. |

Huh? That post just confuses me. Care to elaborate Peterpan? If you elaborate on what you find unattractive... |

Honestly the negativity from some posters is really unattractive and I certainly would not be attracted to any christian guy who was not full of faith and hope and love. Just saying, from a woman's point of view. God is a Matchmaker, trust Him! Yup, negativity IS unattractive... Mark 7:5-7 New International Version (NIV) 5 So the Pharisees and teachers of the law asked Jesus, “Why don’t your disciples live according to the tradition of the elders instead of eating their food with defiled hands?” 6 He replied, “Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you hypocrites; as it is written: “‘These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. 7 They worship me in vain; their teachings are merely human rules.’[a] Whether you find something unattractive or not, the truth is the truth... |
