it boils down to this: liberal and conservative are just political philosophies of the role of government
Modern Democrats and Republicans actually have no resemblance to liberals or conservatives. They have each placed the pre-eminence of their party over the success or failure of this nation I firmly believe that either party would prefer to see this country totally collapse if they could just blame it on the other party I for one would like to see em all, both parties, run out of town with torches and pitchforks |

it depresss me. It awakens some fey feeling of mortality in me and makes me want to slug Guinness all night and feel sorry for myself. (that in itself is a Irish tradition haha) but the sound of the pipers can choke me up and make me cry |

mehhh this is all the biggest problem in our politics
no on can disagree with out demonizing the opposition. its poisoning the well to the point where there can be no discussion of anything without all this mud slinging at either Bush wasn't a Hitler and Obama isn't a communist. They are just ordinary guys doing the best job they can and the rest is ideological bombastic crap rhetoric propaganda and manipulation of the truth and semi false facts designed to sucker in the gullible and weak minded as we well see in these very threads |

kinda ponderous and hard to read
use more imagery. sound, color, smell etc. in other words, show it don't tell it use more white space. white space is as important as text in the flow of prose |

I had high hopes for him but he didnt turn out to be a very good President.
But he wasn't as bad as some he was no Nixon fer instance nor as bad as Carter or even Grant and he wasn't the disaster to the country that Warren G Harding was or Andrew Johnson |

whether its fundamentalists or anti-christians it's still people who think they know best how other people should live and trying to force them to live their lives according to their own beliefs. not much difference between them that I can see Who's "anti-christian"? All most of us atheist want is for the christians to stop THEIR crusade into OUR lives telling US how to live. Prayer in school, choice on reproduction, science (evolution), civil rights to marry who they love...THESE are only some of the things the christians are trying to use government to impose on the masses for THEIR ways. Some christians do not respect the Constitution. Don't see the difference then maybe you're being blinded by "the light". Check and mate... pfffft maybe if you made some other sort of thread than this continual obsessive rant against the christian faith I might have given that statement some credibility but you are as anti christian as dobson is fundamentalist and no I don't see a difference between your rants and dobsons' you both don't approve of how other people live their lives and would force them to live as you see fit same same |
