once I was in Albuquerque and I rolled down my window to flip a cigarette but out. And this guy in the car next to me yelled "Hey Azzhole. Don't throw your nasty cigarette butts on the street!"
so I flipped the butt in his window instead |

the majority of people on here are in "stealth mode" specifically to keep people from knowing when they are or not online
nothing you can do about that except go into stealth yourself |

the whole point of doing anything on television is to sell advertising
it doesn't matter if people like it or hate it. As long as they sell advertising the anti Palin people contribute to that as much as the pro Palin people for example, at the Republican National Covention, John McCain referred to Michael Moore in derogatory terms in his address and Michael Moore was heard to say "He just made me another $200 million" attention, good or bad, makes these people money |

if I remember right from CNN this mornin he DID open up Alaska to offshore drilling. They had a rep from Diamond Offshore Drilling (Red Adair's old company) who said he expected Alaska to become the new Texas for oil production

music
I pick up my old beat up acoustic guitar and some how hours and hours just disappear it happens very time. I'll pick it up like at noon and freak out when I put it down and it's like 5 |
|
|
|
two things he has done that I like
he nationalized financial aid for students and agreed to expanded offshore drilling so far he is striking me as a pretty moderate liberal and seems to be doing okay the left is howling that he has betrayed the environment and the right is howling that he didnt do enough. I figure if they are both pizzed off then he prolly made a good compromise on a side note, if oil drilling is so bad for the environment then why when hurricane Katrina hit over three hundred offshore platforms in the gulf, why wasn't even a single drop of oil spilled? |

check out Townes Van Zandt. He mostly played the small clubs and bars around Austin and San Antonio. He was a country-folk type singer song writer and is considered one of America's historic poets
the bulk of his life was spent touring various dive bars, often living in cheap motel rooms, backwoods cabins and on friends' couches. Van Zandt was notorious for his drug addictions, alcoholism, and his tendency to tell tall tales. When young, he was diagnosed with manic depression, and insulin shock therapy erased much of his long-term memory. Van Zandt died on New Years Day 1997 from health problems stemming from years of substance abuse. The 2000s saw a resurgence of interest in Van Zandt. During the decade, two books, a documentary film and a number of magazine articles about the singer were created. Van Zandt's music has been covered by such notable and varied musicians as Emmylou Harris, Bob Dylan, Lyle Lovett, Norah Jones, Steve Earle, The Cowboy Junkies, The Meat Puppets, and Robert Plant. -wiki "My plan was to run out of life before I run out of music" -Townes Van Zandt's last words Waitin Around to Die http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MwR1n0p1V7U Cocaine Blues http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hjJePtPVquM Pancho and Lefty http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YtzgwNDZAs4 |

Quiet and /or Banana, want to share something of your own?? I just think either and both of you can. from memory... I remember when I was young My life had just begun I dreamed of a day when I would wed And blissful days were just ahead But I never realized That life is built on lies And when you're on top You just cant stop Until you've fallen further Than you've ever been before Life walks out your door I dont understand How any other man Can take it all so calmly I can't take any more So I sit in the dark With my razor marks And watch my life blood dripping This is the end |

Oddly, in a thread about what man can and cannot do, rewriting history plays a part. Not only was the airplane invented in Luckenback, Tx, the Japanese recently (some years ago) started a campaign to rewrite their history books painting a much nicer view of Japan's role in World War II. The old adage "History belongs to the victors." does not always apply. In the question of what is humanly possible and what is not. Some things we may not think are impossible may have been done many, many years but we are unaware of the history and the knowledge was lost. The hamburger was invented in Texas! yah the Japanese history books are now denying that "the Rape of Nanking" ever happened Japan was the ONLY culture on earth to devote their entire culture for two thousand years to the perfection of making war only one nation in that two thousand year history ever defeated them in battle. The United States |

The time has come," the Walrus said, "To talk of many things: Of shoes--and ships--and sealing-wax-- Of cabbages--and kings-- And why the sea is boiling hot-- And whether pigs have wings." |

He took his vorpal sword in hand:
Long time the manxome foe he sought -- So rested he by the Tumtum tree, And stood awhile in thought. And, as in uffish thought he stood, The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame, Came whiffling through the tulgey wood, And burbled as it came! One, two! One, two! And through and through The vorpal blade went snicker-snack! He left it dead, and with its head He went galumphing back. "And, has thou slain the Jabberwock? Come to my arms, my beamish boy! O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!' He chortled in his joy. |
