In fact, if you can, when this happens to you again, can you copy and paste the URL of the page and send it to me in a MAIL message? Please don't post it on the forum, just send it to me in a mail message.

If you don't know what a URL is, it's the web address in your browser that indicates what page you are on, i.e. "http://mingle2.com/topic/show/160573"

Can you tell me what browser and operating system you are using? Also, can you tell me on exactly what page it is happening, i.e. is it on the page where you are supposed to be able to read the body of the email?

Zedo.com is an ad network - most likely what happened is that Norton was reacting to an ad cookie that was placed by Zedo. A cookie is not something that can harm your computer. A lot of ad networks use cookies to keep track of who saw what ad, and it's used to make sure the same person doesn't see the same ad too many times. Advertisers want their ad buys to reach as many different people as possible.

I will talk to our ad partner to see if I can get any Zedo.com ads taken off the site. Thanks for letting us know.

Yes, please send us as much information about what's happening when you experience this problem as possible. We cannot reproduce this error ourselves, so if you are seeing this issue, the more you can tell us, the better. Specifically:

- Exactly what page is it happening on?
- Can you describe in great detail what the problem is that you are experiencing? It's a little hard to understand exactly what's happening from the reports we've received so far.
- What operating system and browser are you using?

We'll do our best to track this problem down and get it fixed. Thanks!

If you see any annoying ad on the site, please let Charles know. We hate annoying ads (i.e. pop-ups, etc.) as much as you do. We are testing some new ad networks, and we don't have full control over what ads they run, but if there is an annoying ad, we can tell them to stop running it. We just need to know which ads they are.

Also, we don't give out any contact information to any other websites, period. We don't sell your email address, and your contact information is kept completely confidential. So if you are receiving spam, etc., I can 100% guarantee it's not coming from us.

Unfortunately, in order to pay for the costs of operating the site, we have to run ads if we want to keep the site free. But we want to make those ads as tolerable as possible, so if there is an ad that is crossing the line, let us know.

OK sorry, the pop-up should stop displaying all the time now. It should only appear once per day.

Sorry about that - although maybe I should left it that way so you guys would move your butts over to mingle2! bigsmile bigsmile

I promise you guys will like the new site once you get used to it, and we're working on a bunch of new features on mingle2 as well, so please give it a try!

OK sorry, that shouldn't be happening. Let me see if I can figure out what's going on. Stay tuned, a fix should be in place shortly...

You should only see the pop-up once per day. If it's happening more than that, let us know. But you guys should all start moving to mingle2 anyways bigsmile bigsmile

If a friend leaves or deactivates, their testimonials do disappear. I will double-check that but I'm pretty sure that's how it works.

Can you explain in a little more detail about the bug you saw on mingle2 for leaving testimonials? We'll look into that and make sure it's working properly.

You can use all 3 for now, but both JustSayHi and OnePlusYou will be shut down shortly. We're keeping them all up during a short transition period, but eventually everyone will need to move to mingle2...

Hi folks -

We have some big news! We're very excited to announce that JustSayHi will be changing its name to mingle2.com.

Here's what you need to know:

- The new site is already live. You can check it out at http://mingle2.com

- All your account information has already been transferred. Just use your current username and password to login

- Anything you do on mingle2 will also happen on JustSayHi. For example, if you make a post on mingle2, it will be visible on JustSayHi. Messages, friend invitations, etc. ALL work and happen on both sites, so it doesn't matter which site you use - you can use either one or both and everything will work fine between both sites.

- Both JustSayHi and mingle2 will be available until Sept 1st. This is so that everyone has some time to get used to the new site, and so that we can work out any bugs or issues before completing the change.

After Sept. 1st, you will need to start using mingle2.

During this interim period where both sites are running, we've created a special feedback forum on the new site. If you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions about the new site, please leave us a post in that forum.

Thanks everyone, and hope you all enjoy the new site!

Mike

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Why the name change?
Some of you might remember we joined forces with another dating website called Mingle2 several months ago, and with the merger, Matt joined us as part of the JustSayHi team. Matt has been eager to give JustSayHi a new look, and with that new look we decided to give it a new name as well. JustSayHi has experienced tremendous growth over the past year and our website has gone from being a small dating website to a massive online community, and as we continue to grow in 2008 we want our image to reflect this growth. In other words: JustSayHi has grown up and it's time to change our appearance a bit :)

When can we check out the new site?
The new site is already live! You can see it at http://mingle2.com . Until Sept. 1st, we will be running both sites in parallel, so that you can make the transition at your leisure. All JustSayHi users will need to make the switch to mingle2 after Sept. 1st, but in the meantime, you can use both sites so that you can get used to the new design and interface.

How do I login to the new site?
All of your accounts are already available and working at mingle2. Your username and password, along with all your friends and messages remain exactly as they were. To login at mingle2, just use the same username and password that you have on JustSayHi.

But if I send a message/make a forum post/etc. on mingle2, will it be visible on JustSayHi?
Yes! Any messages you send on mingle2 will be visible at JustSayHi, and vice versa. During this interim period, it doesn't matter which site you use - all of your communications and interactions with the site will be applied to both sites.

Folks -

I just wanted to clarify a few things here:

- Lily0923 has been warned many, many times in the past about attacking other users

- She was specifically warned by Charles just 2 days ago that we'd suspend her if she attacked another user

- Yesterday, lily attacked another user. First she asked if english was her first language, implying that she was not speaking and writing well. Then when the other user said yes, english was not her first language, lily kept provoking her, accusing her essentially of lying and challenging her to speak spanish or interpret spanish sentences.

This is an attack on another user, and it's not behavior we'll tolerate on the forums, especially from someone who's been warned as many times as lily has. It doesn't matter how someone types of writes on the site. Making fun of how someone writes and essentially accusing them of being illiterate or dumb is an attack and an insult. It's especially bad from someone who's been warned multiple times.

Now, that having been said, we would greatly prefer not to ban lily. Despite her rule violations, she's been a member for a long time and we'd like to be able to keep her on the site. But to do so, she has to follow our forum rules at all times. If not, we'll eventually have to ban her, just like we would any other member on the site. We can't give her or anyone else special treatment.

If you are truly Lily's friends and want her to stay on the site, then encourage her to adhere to the forum rules. Make sure she stays out of trouble. If she stops insulting and attacking other members, she can absolutely stay, and we would be ecstatic if that happened. The last thing we want to do is ban any member of the site. But if she continues to break our rules, she'll be banned, which is exactly the same thing we would do for any other member on the site who can't follow the rules.

Finally, we need everyone to return to their normal images and stop using Lily's photo as their own. It's confusing to other members.

Thanks everyone for your cooperation. Hope you're enjoying the site.

I'm pleased to announce that we've got a new addition to the OnePlusYou/JustSayHi team. Our friend Charles has decided to join us and you should all see him on the forums shortly.

Charles's main role will be to serve as the community liason. He'll basically be our representative to all of you, and also be your representative to us. He'll primarily be monitoring the forums more closely to see what problems all of you are having, or what feature requests you'd like to see, and letting us know what issues all of you feel are most important on the site. He'll also be helping the moderators with any questions or issues they might have as well.

In summary, you should be seeing a lot of Charles on the site bigsmile

So please join me in welcoming Charles to the team! And of course, if you have any questions, just let us know.

Thanks, and hope you all are enjoying the site!

Mike, Vanchau, Matt, Andrew, and now Charles bigsmile

Yeah sorry folks, we had a few glitches after the downtime this morning. I think everything should be ok now though. Are you guys still seeing any issues? The "Recent Post" on the "My Account" tab should now be fixed...

Hi folks,

We have some maintenance work we need to do on the servers this morning that is going to require a brief period of downtime. We'll start work at 9:30AM Pacific Time, and we shouldn't be down for more than 15 minutes. Just wanted to give you all the heads up.

Hope you're enjoying the site!

AP (Associated Press) articles are not press releases. You are not free to reprint them, so therefore, our rules on copyrighted materials applies to AP articles as well.

Hi folks,

There's been some questions about posting copyrighted material on the site. We are in the process of getting clarification from an attorney on what is permissible and what is not.

In the mean time, we believe that it is NOT acceptable to post an entire copyrighted article into the forums. Posting a brief excerpt from an article for discussion purposes which includes a link to the main article would most likely be considered fair use and consequently is acceptable.

We are in the process of reflecting this in the rules, but for now, please adhere to the following rule:

No Copyrighted Material

Information copyrighted or owned by any individual or entity other than the member should not be posted on the discussion forums or software libraries without the consent of the owner. If such an event occurs, the individual posting the information shall be held solely responsible. JustSayHi, nor Next Dating LLC shall not be held responsible for member-posted information that may violate copyright law.

You cannot legally post entire articles or news in the forum without permission from the copyright holder. Even if you attribute the article correctly it's still copyright infringement. Copyright law does not care if you make any money off of the work or not. What matters is if you hurt the potential income of the copyright holder. In this case you would be depriving them of ad revenue and it is illegal. Under Fair Use provisions you can legally post a small abstract of an article - or perhaps the opening paragraph. So if you want to post an article you should do this and include a link, or just post the link. The exception to this rule is press releases; press releases are meant for distribution and can be copied and distributed as much as you want. If you are not sure if you can copy something then always err on the side of caution and simply post a link to the material.

Thanks everyone for your cooperation.
