Hospitals can absorb the cost of the uninsured via writing it off for
taxes.

Rather than legislating seatbelt laws, it's seems more prudent to simply
disallow tax payer dollars, from social programs such as medicaid, from
footing the bill of those who don't wear seatbelts, with the exception
of children. They certainly shouldn't receive substandard care because
mom and/or dad were idiots who didn't buckle them in the vehicle.

I am an advocate for seatbelts and I wear them every time I am driving.
However it really is not necessary to legislate the issue in regards to
adults. Makes for interesting Darwin Awards though.

It would be nice to think that atleast there was some altruisism
involved, but unfortunately it is about generating extra revenue for the
local government. Back door tax so to speak.

I hope no one minds, but I have jumped right into the forums! You guys
offer some great threads and the temptation is too great!

A former male companion of hers was murdered prompting her desire to be
a prosecutor. The lady obviously has lingering anger and resentment from
that incident. One must also consider, too, that after years of seeing
abuse, rape, murder, etc., it is easy to become jaded, suspicious, and
calloused.

I do concur that her voice is annoying though...
