my counselor was a sweetheart. when my shrink first talked to me about
meds, she told me "they might work, they might not. you can take them if
you want, but you don't have to." and that bothered me; i felt like the
reason i was seeing her and going to counseling was because i had lost
the ability to help myself, and she was leaving it up to me whether i
took my meds or not. i cried at my counseling session later that day,
and my counselor told me i had to take them. that made me feel better. i
was lucky in a lot of ways; i found a counselor i got along with right
away, and i found a medication that worked for me without any trouble. i
would encourage anybody who hasn't found that yet to keep looking. it
may be hard, but the relief you feel when you finally find what you need
will be worth it. much love.

i'm on spring break, and nobody is around. i'm bored out of my mind, and
i happen to be a huge music theory nerd.

in traditional western music, you hear what is called "functional
harmony." that means everything gravitates toward a certain pitch. tone
rows are written to that no single pitch carries more weight than
another; each of the 12 chromatic pitches is used only once, and each
has equal importance. i wrote one so that the second 6 notes are the
mirror image of the first 6.

i doubt any of you know what i'm talking about, but i'm terribly
excited; i just wrote a 12 row in such a way that the second half is the
inversion of the first half.

in all likelihood the 3 of us would die in the fire anyway before i
could make up my mind. hypothetically, i think i would choose my best
friend; due to past experiences i have fierce loyalty to my friends.
