Thats a bit ridiculous the proper thing to do would have been 1st protect the child , get them to a safe place and then call the authorities .

Violence begets violence so you just kept the cycle going .... ?

I hear what you are saying but hey, sometimes......................

was at walmart walking by some guy who outta no where just back hands his son,at least I think it was his son,the idiot hit em so hard made him fall down and back a few steps.

so I broke the guys nose, and was sure to let him know why.

ok just wondering what u all thought,I dont think I was in the wrong at all but my thoughts.
I am not one for child abuse,am very much against it

You were just as wrong as him IMO. Think about how the child must have felt when you hurt his father (or who you assume was his father).

I agree with you stepping in but a broken nose... specially in front of the kid.... maybe not such a good idea. But so many would have just let it go and not do anything, so something is better than nothing.

No details of any arrest made? My hats off to ya orange! If the cop'ers nabbed ya for it, opt/demand for a jury trial. You'll get at least one holdout out of twelve, for sure. drinker

Good for you drinker drinker drinker
Number one: Hitting a child is irreprehensible. If you as a parent are unable to outwit a child...your an idiot...PERIOD.
Number two: Your at Wal-Mart...anything goes...

That's why we have Law Enforcement.I also have strong feelings on this subject myself but the law is the law black & white.U could of spent up to 24 hrs in jail or a wkd & charged w/ A&B plus fines.(jmo)

I'm glad you didn't walk by and by the posts I see most agree with the fact that some action was taken.

That could still happen,In texas sometimes in a case like that the state will file on ya, and if so that guy could catch it also.

They probably looked the other way on that one. Either that or the guy simply hasn't pressed charges yet.

I would've done the same thing.. but you could've been pressed with assault charges or battery.. and those aren't easy to defend against if you weren't hit first... =/

Forget the trouble you could have gotten into ... even though the child didn't see violence is NEVER ok ! Considering the authorities had already been called you should have let them handle it ... it's not your job to dish out punishment as you see fit . I don't think your actions were any better than the abusers .

Just my opinion though .

He had it coming...Now he knows how it feels and I hope it hurt like hell

Never lay a hand on a child...I will gladly say I am proud of you...
