for a 3 year old to lie about everything?? My daughter is 3 years old and she is my only child and when you ask her a question about something that happened, she lies to me about it when I know it was her or she lies about stupid little things that don't really matter. I was just wondering from all of you who have more than one child is this typical??

I wouldn't say unusual. kids say the darnedest things. all you can do is teach her the consequences of lying. I think it's more of fear of being in trouble. I have 1 son who is 17. he did that when he was young but I have always pushed on him that I can hand;e the truth more than a lie. with lying...you get in trouble for what you did AND for lying. with the truth...it's just for what happened. and sometimes it just might be a matter of live and let learn |

its probably not a lie, but just her imagination. 3 year olds dont normally get the difference between a 'lie' which is usually meant to hurt, and what they want to be true (but just isnt) just point out to her that she has a great imagination, but this is what really happened.
when my son was three he told the neighborhood that he had 2 sisters who lived in another country... (he was an only child at the time)everyone asked me about it, i was like-what?? |
