those 2 million were wise to flee. It was a dangerous situation since insurgents are attacking civilians. Minimal damage was caused to infastructures. I don't care what media says otherwise. More of them would have died from malnurishment under saddam's regime. Anyone, these people are better nurished, and have better medical attention than they ever have. They did not die as a result from us. I'm telling you, they are better taken care of now then they are used to. In fact, most of our mission there is humanitarian. I know this because i've lived it/ seen it/ done it.
You know I respect you above most who posts here as you never or rarely make it personaldrinker I appreciate that. from my perspective I see that america aided and abeted saddam hroughout the worst of his attrocities it is well documented history, the ten years of economic sanctions aganst him damaged Iraq in a sever and punishing way I say the war is over and was won and we have failed to win the peace thanks to the criminal regime in the white house

yes, people die while fighting wars. Yes, there has been a lot of controversy concerning why we entered the country. As i said in a previous post... We can't end the war. It will continue. But, if we decide to run like cowards and let the iraqi people take the fall for a broken promise, it would turn this conflict into a left-wing self fullfilling prophecy where everyone, both iraqi and american, suffer all the negative consequences from this event, and no one gets to benefit from the positive results that would derive from success. We are succeeding. As i have said before ABC, CNN, etc. can kick rocks. According to soldiers that aren't first filtered through some media, about 85%ish of iraq is controlled by their millitary. Troops are coming home starting with the ones sent in for the surge (which was successful). This is, and should be, a slow process, the reason for which is appearent to anyone that has any tactical knowledge. As well as the fact that they don't want to announce the withdrawl. Such an announcement would cause a surge in violence. So, sit tight, let the soldiers do their job, and don't worry this will be over sooner than later.

oh well,,,of COURSE making sure the right wing doesnt loose face is a GREAT reason for continuing the useless invasion..as long as there are troops being shipped home in body bags then every day is one day too many..but at least the right wing can keep its pride thanks to the faithful GIs...

ok, i guess the reason why i argue so much is most of the time, what i seen on the news and what i've seen i Iraq are two different things. Being on the front line doesn't blind me in anyway. My point to point out that the media is very biased in it's views on Iraq. The reasons i give are just speculation. But i do know they are biased and manipulate numbers to make this all sound much worse then it is. We did not, ever, carpet bomb that place. EVER!!! And i find it very ironic that the same people (media organizations) that complain about not winning the hearts of the Iraqi people are the same ones that blow open stories like Abu Ghraib. Showing this story made things harder for us. Yes, there should have been a trial/investigation but there was no need to make it public knowledge prior to this investigation. Left wing media doesn't care about soldiers any more than extremist right wing does. They are both trying to manipulate everyone into a certain way of thinking. Preferable to their ratings, a way that gets their audiences emotional.

And as far as tactical reasons i give for not pulling out... They are unmanipulated and unbiased. They are merely a professional perspective from someone who has been there, and been trained in some unique ways that give me an outlook from the perspective of the insurgents and terrorists. Trust me, most of the armed services never recieved training like that. Anyway, i am telling you, the mess would be bloodier if we left right now. If we stay the course, we will continue to phase troops out.

Honestly, i don't think anyone is stupid. I'm not attacking anyone's opinion. I'm just trying to introduce a new, neutral, way of thinking. One that thinks 3 steps ahead.

Drivinmenutz,

I agree with you that sometimes the media spins things and doesn't show the whole picture.

And it seems no one gets the perspective of the soldier on the front line.

I have a lot of respect for you and all the other soldiers who are doing their jobs. I just hope the day comes when more of you can come home and enjoy your families.

Anyway, that's my two cents. Keep your head down and God bless the soldiers!

I totally support our troops. Members of my family served over generations. They fought for freedom. I am happy to have real life friends who are home now, and some who are still serving. I ship boxes of goodies over for friends and they share with thier friends its the least I can do when im enjoying freedom everyday.

It is true we are running the torture chambers, people here support it, it is true they are electricity free for the most part, it is true they have no water pumping into their homes, it is true that innocents are dying, it is true that the people there are suffering, etc......

Considering we were supposed to be the great liberators they are not doing much better.noway huh
