I tell the truth all the time, sometimes it's not what people want to hear, but it's better than lying....

too much total truth as in what? you lie a little here and there just to make sure their listening? leave out stuff cuz you don't want to talk about it? explaining a little bit of what you consider total truth would be nice.....

I believe in telling the truth always

somethings aren't meant to be said. sometimes if it's really nothing that concerns your relationship then it's best left a secret

Do you mean too much too soon? Not being able to state things in a tactful manner? TMI Syndrome?

What....

well the point of this exercise is to get people to discuss, not for me to give my opinion and walk away LOL

Sometimes yes. But this is usually only when it doesn't pertain to your life directly. I mean sometimes you just have to be supportive.

I agree. Even though I'm not afraid to speak my mind and answer questions that may or may not do me justice as a person. I believe that some things are better left unsaid. However, if someone feels as though they need an answer; I'll answer it in truth.. yrs. later, some are probably still gasping for air ohwell

no such thing as too much truth, there is a thing as a person not being willing to admit/hear the truth. or the just have their own preconceived notions on what the truth is.

can also be the delivery, sometimes it's not what is said but how it's said. flowerforyou

We are not asking for your opinion. We are asking for an actual question. What is your question? Your topic is too broad...

ok this one is simple... when asked a question about yourself, is it better to tell the whole ugly truth, to tell the truth but leave out the ugly parts, or to arrange facts to show youself in a better light?

There is no such thing as total truth. Everyone tells it their own way whether it is accurate or not. So if you think your hearing the whole truth and nothin but the truth be very suscipious.happy

I know I personally have little or nothing to gain by lying to anyone about anything. Omission does not count as a lie in my opinion unless that omission causes the same effect a lie would have.

depends on the situation. I will tell the important things at first then ease them into others. it's hard to get hit with everything at once...especially if you are starting to date someone. but if you are going to build a relationship then you need to be open and honest
