Here's a question that I've been wandering about, I want to see what you all think. When someone that your in a relationship with tells you that they love you, how can you tell if they mean it, or if there just saying it?

Unfortunately, most women DO snicker after saying "I love you".

The difference is in their voice when they say it.If they say it with feeling they do love you and if they say it flippantly...something is definately wrong.

Honestly, my feeling is that if you have to ask other people, then it probably isn't true. If it was you would feel it.

wow, quick responses :p Well, me and her haven't been together for that long, and she is a bit younger, and we are usually far away, I'm out of the states often, so I'm just not sure. Thanks for all the responses.

If she acts like she cares about you and tells you she loves you, she probably means it. Now if she acts like she wouldn't care if you dropped dead, then said I love you, it's doubtful. :)

Never believe them if the first time they say it is during sex and that is the only time they say it as it is said in lust not love, and if they say it in their sleep usually means it is true or they look you directly in the eyes and say it. If they cant look you in the eyes and say it they are lying

You love me? But it's so soon...oh wait...crap didn't read the thread Anyway love is a very touchy word, the emotion is far harder than most people can assume. Depends on the length of time together, the mutual feelings about the relationship (good/bad), and the bond between the two. Difficult to achieve, and harder to see through a fog of lust.
