I had a girl do this to me for two years and after one day of hanging out broke it off.. be thankful it wasn't longer and you weren't more attached

Good way to look at it. I met a guy off the net and realized we weren't going to work out after the second date. It was only 2 weeks into the "relationship" so it wasn't too bad. And I was polite enough to explain to him why. No idea why people can't be considerate. *shakes head*

I never got an explanation.. we stopped being friends soon after.. good riddance was all i could say.. last time i saw she was meeting people off the net and having sex on the first meeting and then they never talked to her again

There's other fish in the sea. JSH's good for venting, for seeking advice, & for making cyber-connections but I dunno about dating and love. Whilst it's not unheard of, it's probably rare.

I've been in contact with a few folks here and when I try to work out the details of a date, suddenly folks stop communicating. It' probably my long winded style. All I can say is we all fall short and I'd ask for someone's forgiveness and understanding, but that's in short supply. Ask for a do over, I guess.

I the lady's paying for your plane tickets, what the hey. I wouldn't do the sleeping together thing, though. That'll get you attached emotionally way too quick. That's why the Lord says don't do it till your married.

I got so much stuff to do, though, that I have about a day a week or a day a month available to do anything at all that ain't work or personal business related, so whether I have a relationship or not, it don't really matter all that much.

Just keep on trying, guy. Don't tune out meeting someone at the corner grocery or church or wherever, too. There's more to life than on-line (gasp!) believe it or not.

I guess I was lucky and in a way doomed at the same time. But I enjoy this site a lot and the community. I don't think there is a better website out there that offers a free service and such nice people to chat with.
