The 7th day overtime law, which is separate from the minimum wage law
differs in coverage from that in the minimum wage law and requires
premium pay on the seventh day for those employees who work seven days
in any one workweek.

The Kentucky state minimum wage law does not contain current dollar
minimums. Instead the state adopts the Federal minimum wage rate by
reference.

Compensating time in lieu of overtime is allowed upon written request by
an employee of any county, charter county, consolidated local
government, or urban-county government, including an employee of a
county-elected official.

Second, the president has endorsed raising the hourly minimum from $5.15
to $7.25 by the spring of 2009. The Democratic Congress will favor that,
and he may reason that vetoing this minor episode of moral grandstanding
would not be worth the predictable uproar — Washington uproar often is
inversely proportional to the importance of occasion for it.

Besides, there would be something disproportionate about the president
vetoing this feel-good bit of legislative fluff after not vetoing the
absurdly expensive 2002 farm bill, or the 2005 highway bill larded with
6,371 earmarks, or the anti-constitutional McCain-Feingold
speech-rationing bill.

i forgot to mention that if you work on a farm or other agricultrual
type place THERE IS NO OVER TIME that is to be paid out.for example
cattle runners for livestock auction houses can work upto a month
straight and still only get paid $8.75 an hour. i know this for a fact.
i did cattle sorting for 48 hours and still only got paid$8.75/hr for
the full 48 hours. so figure the pay out.for 2 days straight $420.00
total.

each state is different with Min. Wage. ours here is 7.80 hr. and you
HAVE to pay that in any job.... unless your in the FOOD services and you
get tips... then they can say something like 7.00 and hour PLUS tips....
BUT you have to tell them your tips for taxes.... *S*

Either way you get the government up your butt LOL

Bottom line....

The Question was about Kentucky’s Minimum Wages (Right?)
As Kevin finally posted (after several other posts of other BS that
wasn't relevant):

“The Kentucky state minimum wage law does not contain current dollar
minimums. Instead the state adopts the Federal minimum wage rate by
reference.”

Side Note: Individual States or Cities can have different minimum wages
than the Federal Law (as long as it's above Federal Laws). No use on
posting all the different rates and laws because they are NOT relevant
to KYman’s Question...

As I tell people when doing Tax Planning:

"I can answer every tax question asked (as long as I’m paid): But if you
change the Question I can change my Answer”

Thank You, Sluggo CPA

You have Fed. Min. wage and state min. wage Calif. is going up to $8.00
an hour and your not going to get any less than min. wage no matter how
many hours you work. If you only work 2 hrs. you still get min . wage.
