I was baptized mormon. They are the ones who f*cked with my head, and
now I don't know what to believe, except for people in MOST churches are
hypocrates. I cannot go to church anymore, because none have my beliefs.
If I started my own religion, people would say I was startin a cult or
some BS like that, so I just stick with not goin.

Well, I lived in Utah for most of my adult life--By all practical
purposes they appear to be Christian, but if you're an outsider, in
other words, a non-Mormon, the first thing that happens is that you'll
get a visit from an elder or two to get you to convert, and then when
you don't, you mostly stay OUTSIDE. I don't consider that Christian.

Sure, the churchs name is: "The Church Of (Jesus Christ),of Latter Day
Saints".If you name a church after the person you love and admire and
whose church it is,I'd say yes!,we believe we are follwers of Christand
His teachings.We are defintly christians.

I think perhaps the question is was a good one. There are those who
would deceive and those who are deceived. Most mainstream Christians
would not consider those of the Morman faith Christians. In fact the
Morman's had their own division over this very topic, which is why you
will see churches named "The Reformed Church of JC of LDS" because some
realized that they had been deceived and that Jesus was more than just
the profit they were told he was. So there are two factions you may be
considering in this topic. Be careful not to offend anyone, but beware
too that you are not deceived by names and titles.

Mormans, the original sect, are not Christians in the true sense of the
word. Theirs is not the code of the Bible but rather the ethics of the
Book of Morman. Also, remember lest you all forget, that they have
their beliefs as you have yours. Non-Christians are not wrong,
Christians are not wrong but they are both right for some people. And
for some poeple they are all just interesting topics - but none of them
has a place in the civil code of the government of a democratic society.

By the way, do you think Jehovah's Witnesses are Christian?

thats a good question... historically, no. They wouldbypass jesus and go
right to god. This is changing, though. I have seen a lot of JWs who are
rethinking that one and thier publications seem to reflect a change
toward Jesus as of late.
I woulsd reccomend all thier books, ect. they are very good reads. ( i
just forego the last three chapters or so that are designed to convert
us) i have a lot of respect for them,, the bible does teach us to go out
and witness to the masses, which they do. They are certainly very
devout in thier beliefs, you wont find many sunday only types in thier
congregation. hAVE YOU EVER TRIED TO GIVE A jw money? they are expected
to refuse all donations and are instructed to this end.
They were origionally, and still are primarially a bible study group.

nice ram, I especially liked that you skip the conversion tactics?
I have not read any recent publications of theirs, because past
experience made their reads too difficult to understand. The always
took passages out of context and in so doing they had no consistancy of
beleif. And worst of all, those who followed could not answer questions
with regart to thise inconsistancys, they alway had to refer to the
Elders, who often BS'd their way back to where-ever!

I will agree with you, those I have called friends were truely honest,
faithful and trustworthy, and they did live their faith, more than most.
I had a friend about to loose her house, four children and a missing
addicted husband. I wanted to help, I had a hell of a time trying to
get her to accept reason and accept the "loan" I could provide. She
finally accepted "for her children" and of all the people I have lent
money to, never expecting to see it again, she repaid me every cent, as
quickly as she could. She was such an awesome person.

In one word, YES, Mormons are Christian, have always been and always
will be. Also Like most other Christian Faiths Believe in the Bible.

Red, I am sorry about your experiences I hope someday you will find a
Faith that you are comfortable with.

rambill~~~ Yes, they do. They believe that the 3 days Jesus spent
"dead", before he rose from the grave, was spent in the Americas, with
the poeple here. That is what the Book of Mormon is about.

The Mormon have always declared a believe in Jesus, however, do they
believe he is God? Do they believe he was incarnate? Do they believe
his death, his blood, purified them of their sins?

Who is their greatest profit -- Jesus, Moroni, Mormon or Joseph
Smith??????ohwell

I discounted B.Young from the list of profits, obviously he saw a way to
conquer his status in heaven by getting a head start and being the first
to practice his divinely inspired concept of polygamy, which, by the way
took a long time before another profit saw something else and reversed
that inspiration. I guess God changed it's mind?
