The problem I have with stories like this that attribute apparent anomalies to divine intervention is that such an intervening God would need to be extremely selective in who he intervenes for and why he intervenes.

right "Abracadabra" first people claim that God gave everyone "Free Will" but yet God has to intervene in certain situations to alter the reality or when someone prays thereby affecting some of the decisions others may have made... this is an indication that God isn't "all knowing" and that "Free Choice" means "No Choice"

If you have faith, this is a miracle. If you don't, it may not be, for you. Fairh is the evidence of the things that are not seen.

there are no such things as miracles they are merely happenstance of nature that can be explained

lol how can you say that...can you explain how a premature child has no hope of living but yet pulls through, born with a hole in her heart, died a few times and there was nothing that could have been done...that her surviving is not a miracle....that saving someone from the harm they were causing themselves because they chose to get better is not a miracle that they want to do better for themselves....to me they are

You know what would have been a miracle?? If the "hand of god" had stopped two planes from crashing into the World Trade Center on 9/11/01...but I guess the "other" god, Allah...was a bit more on the ball that day...
Keep your faith, if it works for you mazeltov...me I prefer to take the blinders off and live in reality land.
some drunk doesnt end up a vegetable...thats not a miracle, thats a second chance to clean up her act.

you know I put in that last part on purpose to prove a point about christians and their "contradictory faith"...since you ignored the first part of my post, I guess you must believe that 9/11, just like keeping a drunk from turning into a vegetable..was "gods will"..

Well, I was just about to say the same thing that Abra did:wink: He beat me to it.

But for everyone who believes in miracles, I have these questions that I've never gotten a adequate answer to.

How do you know when something is a miracle?

What do people, like the woman in the story, think after they beleive they have experienced a miracle?

Do they think they deserved it?

Do they think they are so much more precious than other who did not receive a miracle?

Do they wonder if Satan had a hand in this miracle?

Do they spent a whole lot of time trying to figure what they can do to live up to recieving this miracle?

Are they afraid of what price they may be asked to pay, for having been "afflicted" of a miracle?

If I were the ricpient of a miracle (and a believer in God) I would certainly not brag about it or ever attempt to use it in some way to persuade another to believe as I do - beause after all - HOW DOES KNOW IF THEY HAVE RECEIVED A MIRACLE?

The only miracle that I’ve ever experienced in my life was when God saved me from Christianity.

And I owe Her dearly for that one! flowerforyou

no 9/11 was not "God's will," wrong doing is never God's will. That was an act purposely committed by a group of people with the intention to kill and cause pain and suffering to other people. God can't be behind such a thing.

First, of all I think the original intended audience of this post was for those who has struggle believieng in God, and not for those who with freedom deny the undeniable which is God existance, so starting from there I don't understand why are you guys being so judgmental. I mean if you don't want to believe in God that is absolutely fine. But bashing this girl who just wanted to share something beautiful with people who maybe need to read this things to fortified their faith.
