It depends on if they were actually doing something else until they decided, and if they were actively seeking to find out what they did want.

The most interesting people I know didn't know at 22 what they wanted to be with the rest of their lives. The most interesting 35 year olds i know still dont.

I agree with 401 even though I'm nowhere near 35. I'd guess I'd have to cross that point when I come to it.

I am lucky to make it day to day so how can I expect more out of someone else??????

why is it so important to know exactly what you want to do for the rest of your life so early in life? you never know whats right around the bend, if i would have stuck with what i wanted when i was 22 i would be a line cook in a small restuarant somewhere making jack squat. mymind has changed so many times threw out my life and given me so many new things to try. i worked for people, i've owned businesses, i play in several bands, i build cars and i can safely say i would never limit the rest of my life to doing just 1 thing ever.

so to answer your question, i think i would be less likely to date somebody that made a choice on just 1 thing for the rest of their lives and closed off all other possibilities. that is a muchmore boring way to live.
