My fathers still alive. I love him very much. He was strict (not abusive)when I was a child. Didn't like it then but looking back I'm glad he was. I'm a better person for it now. happy

My Dad passed in 99....we never got along until the late eighties.. He was a very proud man, he was very hard on me growing up..i resented the hell out of it....but in retrospect...i'm glad he was. He taught me right from wrong, he taught me about being a man, he taught me to have compassion for others, and he taught me when i was thirty years old that he could still whip my a$$ in a fight. And he did...toughest man i've ever fought....he told my mother later he was about to give up lol....wish i had known that! laugh He was a very good man, Air force....He was also skilled at making money, something else i should have listened to. I'm grateful for every spanking i ever got, every tear he ever shed, and everything he ever gave me, be it material things or knowledge and i'm thankful he was my dad. I love him and miss him, and no i'm not ashamed at all to admit that.

My dad was a drill srg. in the U S Army.(Talk about yelling ,noway I have been down that road growing up.)noway (Did any of you have a nice....dad like mine??)

Be thankful you have a dad. My dad and mom split before I ever started school and my bro and I got put in a home for kids where they sent you out to work everyday, they took the money, beat the **** out of you for the least infraction every day, TV was only on Saturday and there was no dating, no band, no allowance, no pop, no potato chips, no bicycles let alone bikes, not much of anything but work.

Call it baggage, I call it education. If I have money OK, if I don't OK. I don't waste time watching network TV and I can fix or make anything. I cannot change the past but I can do something about the future.

I treat my kids like I would want to have been treated. If you have some do the same and if your dad bugs you remember you at least have a dad so quit her ^&*()_ *****in. It could be a hell of a lot worse.

My Dad passed away Jan 2004 his B-Day is next monday St. Patricks Day. He served two terms in the Army he was in the Korean War. He was very proud of the American Flag his last wish was to be buried near one. Which he got less then 30 ft away. My Dad was the first of my family that came from Germany to serve in the military. He was a very laid back and easy going person never raised his voice. I love him and miss him very much. bigsmile  bigsmile

Be thankful if you still have them in your lives one never knows what tomorrow will bring.flowerforyou
