It it was something the person was wanting and money was not an issue and they were on the fence about it. I would tell him that I like him the way he is and that he should only do it if that is what he needs to do to feel better about himself.

If a person feels they need to spend $700 a month to improve their looks, they need help. I'd encourage them to get therapy so that they could figure out what was really wrong.

could be, I never said it was make-up and such. I said appearance, not outward or inward.

No I wouldn't because if I cared about someone, there would be no need for them to improve their appearance. I would want them to stay the way they are!

I feel the same way about you!love love love

Can't resist this one Peccy,
If one truly cares for themselves, and cares about a significant other, there whoudl be no need to improvement. IMO, if one has let themselves go and need a $700 per month improvement plan, then there are some real personal problems in the underlying.

I would, if it didnt bother her, Im not going to force her, but I see no harm in encouraging her. If it did bother her, then I wouldnt force her, and Id use the money on myself. Maybe buy some new clothes, get some pecs, and a six pack, hell make it a 12 pack  , face lift, new hair cut, maybe even start a gym membership. **** I could go on and on... happy

Would you encourage your partner to spend money to improve their appearance if it cost say $700 a month? For arguments sake, say you could easily spare that much.

defintly NO.

i will say im like that with myself, i spend a fortune on skincare, and makeup and designer clothes, but just because im like that, i wouldnt tell anyone else to do that.
