Let me see if I have this understood right. You are eighteen years old. Your main pic is of you dressed in military gear, and your profile states you are a carpenter, an electrician and a plumber, so I am going to go out on a limb and suggest that you are in the military. Considering you have stated that you are going to STATE prison, and not a military prison, then I think it is safe to believe you are in the guard or reserve (If I am correct about being in the military in the first place). When I joined the army back in 1993 my first mos was carpenter/masoner (53B) and you would cross train into electrician(57R?) and plumber (57K?) as you got higher in rank. It would not surprise me to find out that they have combined all three into one mos (military occupational specialty) now, as they have done with several others that you would cross train in at a certain rank. With that said, you also state that you were charged with three crimes: The first being possession of drug paraphenalia along with drugs, the second one intent to sell/distribute. You have not stated what the third one is, and I am not going to ask as it is none of my business or concern. Now, I have never done anything worse than cigarettes or alcohol, don't care too, never have. I am all for the legalization of pot, and certain other drugs; as you stated a person using pot is no different than a person using alcohol. And I want to applaud you for being responsible enough to not get behind a wheel or anything when you are high. Not to many people would do that. However my question is with this: What paraphenalia did you have to get busted for if you are only using pot? To my knowledge you treat pot just like a cigarette as far as rolling it and smoking it. No equipment involved (unless you are using a tube packer, and that is not drug paraphenalia). This suggests that it wasn't pot you got busted with. Am I pretty much right so far? Or am I way off base? Wouldn't be the first time I was wrong, but I don't think I am with what you have stated so far. And if I am right, then this explains why you are getting such a "harsh" sentence at eighteen. you are completly right and i had an eight inch bubbler pipe, i dont like to smoke blunts ok I just learned something new  (good day for me lol). I did not realize you could use a "bubbler pipe?" for pot. But then I barely know what one is too If I may ask, and forgive me if I press too far, are you getting the state prison in lieu of going to military prison? Or is it just that you were caught and arrested while not on duty? and by non military police? I know different states it is different for the guard on wether or not they can serve in a civilian prison while a member of the guard. |

m actually no longer in the service i got a medical discharge, but to all you people out there, yes that really is me, i was in the, army, and yes i even smoked pot then but never at the wrong time, the mission comes first

im going for possesion of drug paraphranelia and possesion with intent to sell, but i wasnt gonna sell it i swear it was mine now dont judge me cuz i smoke it doesnt change who i am, am if a single ****er comes near me and tries to **** im gonna cut his **** off Stay strong man, and don't loose pride in yourself. I smoke too and it should be legal. I don't see why you can freely buy a bottle of Jack Daniels and waste yourself, but if you smoke a joint and wash your car you're suddently a criminal. It makes no sense at all to me. Try to focus on the positive and not what's around you. don't listen to who is trying to make you feel like a criminal, you're not. take care |

Once upon a time when I was 22 before moving on to the state patrol. I am glad that you don't do that work anymore .. I think that being around the lowest forms of human life would rub off on you .. and i think that this kid is bragging it up for some sort of macho bull well you know .. fact of the matter it is not something to be proud of .. you broke the law .. I would not want my daughter to date you .. I am an old hippy and I have never been busted for smoking anything .. I no longer par take .. but there is a lot more to this story and this is not your first offense nor your last get used to jail you will be there again again and again ok woman first off u dont know me and there for cannot judge me nor should you judge me according to our lord jesus christ, second this is my first offence, never been in jail before, and third the other things i am not telling have nothing to do with drugs or any other thing, and forth i aint bragging about anything i mearly started this thread to tell people i know that i will not be on for a while when i do get arrested, and fifth if i met you in person and your daughter you would never know i smoked pot because i would never take your daughter to an environment where it is going on nor would i ever smoke around her or pressure her into smoking, and lastly just because i smoke pot does not make me a bad person, i got to church every sat night and sunday morning i also work in the kids bible study program (never once came in high or even smelling or looking like someone who smokes pot) i have a job which i work very hard at and no i dont smoke at my job either nor have ever come in stoned and with my S.A.T. scores i could get into pretty much any college i would ever want to but right now i just dont have the money nor time to write a bunch of essays to try and get scholorships, so thankyou for your time and please do not judge somebody you do not know ok what is it with you?, i am trying to be civil and nice but yet you speak to me as if im a worthless piece of crap or you have something against me, i did not have an attitude while writing my last post to you and still do not but i will get a little aggrivated when people make me out as a bad person just because i smoke pot, im not bad, and whats this about me not being a contribution to society?, i teach young kids about god, i have been a legal working, taxpaying citizen since the age of 12 started with the family business, and when i was 16 i was a volunteer firefighter, and lastly i dont smoke all the time i smoke mostly on weekends just happened to get caught on the way to a party because my brake light was out and they searched the vehicle(was not high or smoking while driving) so tell me please what is so bad about me the fact that you work with children and still choose to get high .. the fact that they prob look up to you and you don't see that you smoking pot effect them.. the fact that you think that it is okay to break the law ,, the fact that you still continue to act like you have done nothing wrong .. if you are teaching those kids about Jesus then explain your language .. Don't you think that you should set a better example .. this is not about your use of pot .. this is about your lack of concern .. but it's your life you screwed it up ,, now don't take anyone down with you ... |

the_don, You are 18 years of age, you know the law, you ignored the law. Stop trying to make excuses and be accountable for your actions. Sucks to be caught, but you really did know better. ...and since you have said that there is more to it and you really do not want to disclose on here. Me thinks there is more guilt than you are letting on. i aint makin excuses i dont really give two ****s about going to prison it is just a walk in the park to me, im just expressing my views and have every right to do so, and i aint gonna lie, the first day im out ima go to my buddies house and toke up, and as for the things im not telling they have nothing to do with drugs in any way, i'll be serving 2 sentences Good luck with that. Defy just for your personal problems....Blah, blah, blah. Grow up alreay! Make something of yourself and get off the loser band wagon already! |

Don't you think that you should set a better example .. this is not about your use of pot .. this is about your lack of concern .. but it's your life you screwed it up ,, now don't take anyone down with you ... there is not a single thing wrong with working with children and smoking pot, i dont smoke before i work with them or during and they have no clue i smoke and really if they did know i smoke pot big deal i would teach them thats its not ok for them to smoke pot, i would encourage them not to and also why they shouldnt, and ya know what my pastor smokes too but not at the inappropriate times, as for my language it is what it is i grew up around it i use it i accepted jesus into my heart along time ago and it doesnt matter if i have a foul mouth as long as i know when to watch my language and i do, i dont swear anywhere near a child, so really thats none of your business, and as for me breaking the law, who hasent, and our justice system is so corrupt you can get away with murder right in front of the president and congress all you have to do is have very deep pockets so dont preach to me about breaking the law i can gurantee u have broken the law as least one time in your life, matter a fact if i knew your name i could have ur whole life on my screen in just five minutes but i wouldnt do it, why, because i have morals, and i do know i have done wrong by smoking pot but i dont care because it really isnt wrong to smoke pot, hell god made the **** we didnt, he said in genesis we could do whatever we wanted with the things on this earth, be it he didnt phrase it quite like that but he said it |

I worked in the prison system for 17 years and I know the staff worked hard to protect the inmates from being victimized by each other. Inmates will snitch on each other and they were able to stop inmates from being hurt many times before anything happened because of these "snitches." If you feel in danger you can always request "PC" (protective custody) which is solitary confinement, but would keep you safe for awhile while they investigate what is going on and the reason you felt in danger. We even had a unit where they immediately put any inmates that they felt would be easy "targets" for the more dominant population, they called it the "special needs unit" and it housed the older and ill inmates, but also the young, more immature inmates that the officers saw as soon as they came in would likely be easily targeted as victims by other inmates.
I don't do drugs and don't like them, have seen them destroy too many families, along with alcohol. I type medical reports and have typed reports on poor little babies born with horrible defects/problems because "mommy" wouldn't quit using during her pregnancy and the baby is going to pay for it for the rest of its life. So, I don't like drugs or alcohol. It is everyone's choice to use or not. I hope things go okay for you, learn the rules right away, follow them to a "T" and don't cop an attitude. Try to get some time off for good behavior and maybe you can get out early. Good luck. |

Yeah I have even smoked pot a lot -- you really need to pay attention to the post .. I just think that it is a shame that your attitude will keep you in and out of jail for the rest of your life ..
i do pay attention to the posts but regardless if i knew u were a hippie or not i could still gurantee u have broken the law at least once in your life because noone is perfect, and who are you to say i'll be in and out of jail for the rest of my life, noone can decide that but me and i dont plan on it, so what if you have never gotten caught smoking pot i bet you have had a few close calls, just because you go to jail once does not mean you will be like that forever and there is nothing wrong with my attitude i am actually a very nice gentlemen, not self proclaimed, i have been told by many. the only reason i seem like i am bad in this thread is because i have had to do nothing but defend myself from all the people who think they are so much better than someone that they have the right to judge others, as i said before noone has the right to judge but god, and you know what i dont like people to think of me as a bad person so i really want to continue talking to you, wether it be on this subject or many others i just want to show you i am a good person i just like to smoke pot most weekends, safely and so as not to harm others |

Shoes - Get over yourself. You sound hypocritical, judgemental, and far less intelligent than you seem to believe. Don - I agree that this is a very important time to keep your head down and play by the rules. I also agree that pot should be legal, that smoking it is not a moral consideration, and that judging you for that is pretty pointless. Daniel - Nope, you are just plain wrong. Bongs and pipes are usually used for pot, and if it has pot residue in it, they can definitely nail you on a charge of paraphenalia. None of that implies any stronger substance whatsoever. Sheesh. What a lot of judgemental people. Fortunately, none of you would be allowed to date my kids, if I had any.
