Just because someone is mentally ill or has a diagnosis of a mental illness, does not mean that they are unable to make an informed decision. There are lots of individual that have mental illnesses such as depression, bipolar, and even SZ, that can make informed decisions. There is a stigma around mental illness and there isn't anything different about most of them compared to everyone else.

Dysthymia, Depression, Schizophrenia, the rare person who actually has Bipolar Disorder...and others. I'm appalled at your question. And disappointed it was actually typed out. 1 in 100 people have schizophrenia... and within that are a variety of types. They are articulate human beings who function within society to varying degrees. You'd be shocked to know how well they function.

Depression, bi-polar, etc.etc....that covers just about the whole country I believe, so therefore..maybe we're all mentally ill..

actually they should be encouraged to vote more .. after Reagan cut all the mental health programs in this country to shreds that caused the homeless population to explode .. they need more of a voice then most ..
