Yup.. agreed.. I have no real issue with people who own weapons responsibly. However.. Responsible is a pretty subjective term.

Having a weapon in my home unsecured, loaded and on display... to me? Is not being responsible. To someone else? Is. Going out in the street and shooting my weapon in the air at midnight, on New Years? Not responsible.. But in Los Angeles county? Thousands of people do it every year.

Someone needs to define responsible. That someone would logically be the State and Courts. There needs to be preventions and laws in place to deter the irresponsible.

The hillbilly contingent see those preventions and restrictions as a violation of their rights.
