With terms of endearment? If you just met someone and they already are saying things like "baby" or stuff like that, are you uncomfortable with that?

Just don't loan any money, and you'll be alright.

Well if they are gonna talk to me like that, I am gonna assume we are in a serious relationship and start asking money from themlaugh laugh kidding
Is there such a thing as a "serious relationship" merely online? Darlinflowerforyou laugh

I am not just talkin' about online. I mean out in the real world. Online this stuff doesn't phase me. I never take anything too seriously on here.

Well alot of times you do have to account where that person might be from and how they were raised... I have had guys that are in the service and from the south and call me darling. So it doesn't bother me..

ON any point of view if I call you baby ect.It is getting a little more personal.I prefer to say "Hey Girl How have you been"I think Baby is gettin' a little closer to personal.smokin

Yea that's how I am. But even when I am with someone, I don't talk like that. My parents never did it so it just feels weird to me because I wasn't raised like that.
drinker Just take a deep breath and relax everyone, geez all these rules and guidlines, how the heck are we supposed to know or keep up with it, Hey you, girl, gal, shug, darlin, honey, what is the big dealgrumble

This was not meant to be turned into a big deal. I simply asked a question. I was bored so I made up a topic. This does not seriously bother me, it is just not how I talk. This was not intended to raise any hairs.

I'd prefer to know someone fairly well before they started giving me nicknames like "baby".. But once I get close to someone, I use them alot. I use "honey" alot with my friends, but "sexmuffin" is reserved for my friend Jacob, and people give us the STRANGEST looks when I call him that bigsmile

What's wrong sweetypie? Feeling a little standoffish my darling? A hug will cheer you up my little sweetheart.
:heart: :tongue:

Awwww in using the terms this way I have no problem I call others Sweet Thang , hon, baby ect at times. I see nothing wrong with that. Now they start saying I love you that has taken me for a turn a few times but........ some were raised to say it even to friends so one must make sure how they mean it before taken offense to it.

See everyone is different in how they use words so if it makes you feel uncomfortable tell them most don't think anything about it and its just the way they talk. And we do tend to type the same way we would say it at times with out any thought to it.

It's all in good fun :smile: But my friends also use terms of "endearment" that aren't always positive... s*ut is a pretty common one that I hear alot... It's all in good fun, though. We're a pretty abusive and strange group of people, but it keeps things interesting, that is for sure!

If you're ok w/it then it should be ok.

Like I said it's not really what you call me that matters;
it's what I answer to that makes the difference!

I knew a guy that tried to tell me it was perfectly acceptable where he was raised to refer to a woman as b*tch or c*nt...I told him it may be acceptable there but here you will show respect. I will generally respond to anything, some things just catch me off guard, but I will still answer.
