I've come across the fake profiles on different dating sites..and had conversations with them and generally they end up wanting money for a flight ticket to where you live. I've found they are easy to spot though. They will say such things in there profile as "i was Treated bad in my last relationship i just want a boyfriend to treat me right..I'm very sexually active..ect ect..I'm sure the are ligit profiles out there that say those things but generally thats whats said or something along those lines.
I toyed with a Lady trying to Prey on me one time(could have been a guy). She had a Beautiful pic and had her location as local but was in africa working. She talked to me a couple of weeks and then she started asking for money to fly to Kansas City. I had some fun with it and toyed with the criminal..and cut it off eventually |

As much as I see this kind of crap on the news, I just wouldn't believe that people still fall for this stuff. IDIOTS.

It's unfortunate when someone is cruel but also that some are so trusting or blinded they become gullible. It must be nice to have found a good friend like that, LuLu.

It's unfortunate when someone is cruel but also that some are so trusting or blinded they become gullible. It must be nice to have found a good friend like that, LuLu. it is! after three years of conversing, he's become pretty special to me in a very platonic best-friend kind of way. i've introduced him to several of my female friends, hooked him up so to speak, lol. even after all this time, it's amazing to me that there are so many generous and giving people that would send a complete stranger gifts. and not just this guy... one lady from amsterdam sent me medicine from another country for my daughter...she actually had a completely different friend from ANOTHER country send it to me... another man sent me a large box of habaneros, jalapenos, and chilis...and another friend sent me a beautiful dream-catcher that she picked up while traveling to meet the guy i helped hook her with. in this day and age, it's amazing that there are so many loving and trusting people still around. it's like...we're a huge online family or something. |

its a shame that people can be so gullible, however, we are here (at JSH) because we are searching for someone, whether that be friend, lover or life partner, and that requires a certain amount of trust.
I would ask that we reevaluate our victim-blaming and place the blame where it belongs, on the shark that took advantage of the woman's need for comfort and love.. shame on him! he worked her and then took advantage of her. He's the culprit, she was foolish,but that doesn't mean she deserved to be taken advantage of, not just for the money but think what it did to her sense of trust and self-esteem. Feels like rape to me.... |

"Fool me once, shame on you;
Fool me twice, shame on me." We dont have to learn by our own mistakes, we can learn from the mistakes of others. |
