this is a hard topic for me, because well it astounds me that it happens and how it's handled. Okay I have dated a lot of women in my life, all kinds, all shades, all beliefs and this happens in all of them.

every woman I have been with or atleast got to know has been raped at some point. I hear them say that like its no big deal. I can't digest that. is our culture our way of life so immune to women getting raped that not even the victim cares?

When I hear them say that it horrifies me, I instantly feel ashamed of being a man, then I ask if they reported it or what ever and no, nobody reports these things, or they say it happens to everybody.

No!! it doesnt happen to everybody, NO! it's not okay. who ever does such a cowardly disgusting act needs to be axed. there is no reason for that. I don't wanna hear " I couldnt control myself" "She lead me on" "she's a whore" you know what, rapiests are lower than tha white crusty s hit that forms on a crack heads lips.

Women, its okay to tell someone, I know sometimes it's hard to prove, but if justice doesnt find them, you bring justice to them. A man can rape a woman " Rape a man with a steak knife" see if he enjoys it.

this just sickens me, I can't get over how nobody cares anymore, are we barbarians?

I know a lot of women who have been "raped" too... It seems way too common to me, like many of them have made it up, though I'm really not sure why they'd do such a thing. Maybe it's to validate a past relationship that wasn't good for them or maybe it's just to gain our attention, but I've heard it too many times for me to be fully convinced at this point... especially since it doesn't seem like many of them have actually pressed charges on it.

Thank you, Son of Jack, for speaking out. And if more people felt the way you do, maybe it wouldn't be such a problem. But, the fact is, one in four women will be raped in their lifetime. And it is incredibly hard to prove, especially in a court room. Not to mention it's incredibly horrifying for a woman to go through that experience, then have to relive it over and over again. It's not that it's not a big deal to a woman, it is, it changes you forever in ways you cannot imagine. But, many women prefer to deal with it through counseling or whatever, then move on with their lives.

YES EVERY WOMAN IS DIFFERENT AND WILL DEAL WITH IT IN THEIR OWN WAY, WHICHEVER SHE CAN LIVE WITH THE BEST, IT'S A VIOLATION OF A WOMANS BODY AND U ONLY KNOW THINGS WHEN THEY HAPPEN TO U PERSONALLY, SO JUGEMENT IS EASY WHEN U DONT REALLY KNOW!

sometimes not even councelling helps... i had a friend whos step father did things to her for years... untill litterally the day he died... molested her, got in the car to go to work, then got into a car accident. that was her therapy... knowing that karma's a giant *****

i don't wish it on anybody i was date raped when i was 16 he was not brought to justice.the young man i was with at the time was ready to go and kill the sob,but i told him it wasn't worth it.
it wouldn't have been so traumatizing if it hadn't been a year after the sexual abuse finally stopped.flowerforyou flowerforyou flowerforyou flowerforyou  flowerforyou

well, a friend of mine, he's a guy, was also raped..he was 16 when he was raped by a mature woman..and after what happened, the next thing he knew, he was the one imprisoned..i really felt for him..and its n0t cool..not only men are the ones who rape, women too! though most of the time, its the men..but in his case, he lost his teenage life for having been imprisoned for an offnse that was done to him

Son of Jack - it is likely that attitudes such as this contribute to lowered rape reporting numbers.

In addition, rape victims often feel a sense of shame and guilt and also feel numb, disconnected and devalued. This combination of negative feelings doesn't compel one to share such a horrific event, especially if they may be greeted with the above attitude.

At any rate, you are right. It is a tragedy that this crime is so wide-spread that it seems commonplace. I suspect that one of the reasons women sound to you as if it's "no big deal" is because they have dealt with it internally and have chosen to not give that formidable act any more of their physical, emotional or mental energy.

It is heartening that you have such concern.flowerforyou
