thanks for the feedback ladies, but this issue has to be made a big deal. I want a child one day, if it's a girl I feel sorry for her boyfriends, same goes if I had a son.

Too man sick people in the world, too many sick people on the web. All the child porn is so disgusting to me, That's whay Chris Hanson is my here:wink:

You're right, it should be a much bigger deal than it is. And I think one big thing most people need to be educated on, rape is not about sex. It is about power and control, nothing more, nothing less. It is a way of taking control of a person in the worst way possible, by violating their body. Too many people equate it with sex, which is why so many victims are victimized a second time within the judicial system, the victim gets the blame and the shame. That attitude is changing, very slowly, but it is changing.

I know a lot of women who have been "raped" too... It seems way too common to me, like many of them have made it up, though I'm really not sure why they'd do such a thing. Maybe it's to validate a past relationship that wasn't good for them or maybe it's just to gain our attention, but I've heard it too many times for me to be fully convinced at this point... especially since it doesn't seem like many of them have actually pressed charges on it.

I've wondered that myself, because the numbers do seem to be way too many.
However, ultimately I've decided this is a much larger problem than is ever reported. I'm sure some are false, but I can't imagine so many women making things up. I feel that most rape's are not even reported, are only told about to those that they are closest to and feel secure enough with to speak of such a tragedy.

You're right, I forget what the statistic is, but it's over 50% of rapes are unreported. Why, because women feel they won't be believed.

all the ones Ive known that's what they thought. It just, I dunno.. it bothers me, that our system is so messed up and women still have to live in a man's world and not a place where we are all treated the same.

it's not necessarily about not being believed...it's a HUGE ordeal to report a rape.

it's MUCH easier to just get on with your life and heal...rather than being violated over and over by the system.

hospital tests, interrogations, interviews, testifying...a huge invasive process for "justice". personally, i could care less about justice...just getting on with my life.

Wow...how awesome it be to see all the low-lifes walking around with steak knifes stuck in them.....
I have seen so many times...women getting "raped" all over again with our justice system....I can see why some women suffer in silence.....drinker

You know, you have a very strong and sincere sense of purpose here, for which I commend you. If you're interested, there are lots of places to volunteer where you could be of tremendous help and value.

If not, though, you have done a great service here. If one person reads this thread and connects with it in some way, you've made the world a little better place. flowerforyou flowerforyou
