I don't care what the situation is no one deserves to hit another it takes a bigger person to walk away. 
I one time had a Ex try to stab me thit a 9" carving knife...I was cut several times. What would you do in that situation? All I'm saying is that sometimes you have no choice. Its a matter of survival. I'n not saying that its right by anymeans to do that to another person, but sometimes you have to choose between to bad options in some situations. In that situation you do what it takes to survive. I'm more or less saying before one throws the first punch they are the ones that need to walk away. Hell the one getting hit to me has all the right to defend themselves in what ever way is needed. |

No one should have to put up with abuse..... Verbal abuse can sometimes be a lot more destructive than physical... The brain can take so much of being called an idiot, stupid, saying you can't do anything right, swearing at your significan other...... I just sometimes don't understand when 2 people are in love....that this can take place or happen in the home....don't understand at all...... to some extent i agree with this too.. i have people on here get mad at me cuz they call me beautiful... but after 7 years of being with a guy who had me convinced that i was so ugly that i wouldnt ever get another man... you tell a chicken that it is a duck for long enough.. it will think its a duck.. lol.... i lived thru the physical.. im dealin with the emotional... and will survive through both...

drifter.. as someone who has been in your situation.. first call the cops.. second lock yourself in a room somewhere.. or restrain the person.. not jsut hit tho... also.. the main point in this thread was jsut hitting to hit.. anger or frusteration.. not defending your life.... jsut my opinion....
I never said I hit her. and I didn't. I eventually got it away from her with out hitting her, but I was cut up pretty bad. I have issues with hitting women for any reason. Hitting is hitting weather its for no reason or if it is for defending your life. All I'm saying is that in some situations I might be able to understand why someone got hit. But it depends on the situation. |

Why do people hit the ones that they are supposed to love. If I was ever in a relationship with a lady I could not picture myself beating her or emotionally abusing her. To be when you are in relationship you should be there for your partner. I could see myself hurting anyone who would even try to hurt the one I love.

i had a similar situation with my ex... but when the knife is at your throat.. you just hold your breath and pray..... |

Sadly by time I was 21 I had seen enough violence to last 2 life times. After that I did everything I could to keep it out of my home at least. |

After that I did everything I could to keep it out of my home at least. well in 6 of the last 8 years... ive seen and felt enough to be sure that i dont want it around my kids ever again... and should have been strong enough to keep it away in the first place.. but hindsite is 20/20 and its hard to leave someone who has you convinced that you are a duck..

Thats true, I'm glad to see that your still here. Sadly by time I was 21 I had seen enough violence to last 2 life times. After that I did everything I could to keep it out of my home at least. well in 6 of the last 8 years... ive seen and felt enough to be sure that i dont want it around my kids ever again... and should have been strong enough to keep it away in the first place.. but hindsite is 20/20 and its hard to leave someone who has you convinced that you are a duck.. Well I can say I have never in my life been hit by a man nor have I hit one thrown anything at one either dont believe in it myself.
All I can say the way I have been raised if man ever raises his hand at me now days he better hope like heck he takes me all the way.

I've personally never been physically abused, but emotional is just as bad if not worse. Like Izzie said, when someone tells you something long enough you tend to believe it.
Back on topic, I can't think of a reason to ever hit someone, if I am angry I am smart enough to just walk away. If someone was hitting me my only choice would be to let them because I do not have the physical strength to get away. But he better hope he finishes me because I have enough big male friends that I can't do anything about.

Hummmmm huhhh for sure they would see the German come out in this one and don't think they would like it.
Was raised a tom boy hung around my brother for many years. I was his shadow. And actually learned a few ways to defend myself from a guy since I'm one of he short people so to say,. Hehehehe 5'3 does have and advantage at some point
