I'm going to save it, just like every other financially-minded person ought to do with it (excepting those in dire financial straits of course)....and the economy will be no better off! WTG government!

As far as the stimulus package is concerned, I don't know if it will help the economy or not. My understanding is that checks will start to go out in May from as low as $50 to as high as $1200, plus $300 for each dependent child. The higher amounts will go to married couples. Some information indicates that it will be for people earning under $75,000; other info says it will go to people earning under $87.000. Some pundits claim people will use the money to pay off credit card debt. Other newcasters say those receiving the money will use it for necessities. Then there are those so-called experts who say Americans will put the money in the bank. So, who knows .... it is anyone's guess whether it will help or not.

SOFFIT.....

I want to add to what you said about illegals. One of the major reasons people are against illegals is because many, not all, Mexican women sneak into the USA and come into the emergency rooms of our public hospitals to deliver their new baby. Once the baby is born in an American hospital, it is an American citizen. It doesn't matter that the mother used deception, fraud and committed a criminal act to get into the emergency room of a US hospital to have that child. At any event, that child is entitled to go to American schools, receive free medical care, food stamps, cash benefits, and all other social programs.

You need to remember that public hospitals, not private, cannot turn anyone away who needs medical care. These illegals are very much aware of this fact. I saw a documentary on cable tv that showed how five days a week on the Mexican side of the border, hundreds and hundreds of Mexican children line up to cross the border. Once they are on the American side, American school buses are waiting to take them to American schools. In some of the border states, because of illegals, children are being taught out of trailers -- not the Mexican children, but American children. The reason for this is that in most states, schools are funded by taxpayer dollars. When a city/state is over-flooded with children of illegals who are not paying taxes, then there are not enough schools and no money to build more, hence trailers are brought in and used as classrooms.

Many American hospitals located in border cities have been forced to close down, because of illegals who do not have the money or health insurance to pay for medical attention. Sadly, many Americans in those border cities have died in ambulances on the way to hospitals, because the ambulances have to travel an inordinate amount of time to get to a hospital since the nearby hospitals were forced to close because of the burden of illegals.

Last, in these border cities/towns, there are roads that Americans have to keep off of at night, because of criminal illegals robbing, raping, murdering Americans and putting Americans in danger of their lives and property. Unfortunately, many illegals, not all, who come to this country are criminals and think nothing of murdering Americans for a few dollars.

Now remember, I am not lumping all illegals into the above, but there are a significant amount of illegals who are behaving in the above manner and are causing heavy burdens on American taxpayers, not only in social programs, but also in the criminal justice system.

CLDMom:

I think everyone would agree with you about cutting the cost of goods and services, but, it seems to me to be an on-going circle.

Employees want to be paid more (because everything costs more), so an employer raises the price of goods it sells, i.e., perhaps, I will use something close to me so as not to offend anyone, dog food. To do that the price of dog food goes up.

On and on.frown frown frown

cutelittledevils'mom....... Milk ....liquid gold..... yes .... I drink a lot of milk, about two quarts a day, even more now that I am home on sick leave. I never paid attention to the cost of it until I started drinking so much. But what are we supposed to do since we can't eliminate it from our diet? I take it that your "cute little devil" drinks quite a bit of it. Well, $900 should keep the "cute little devil" in milk for a while.

Leahmarie this is at least twicenoway That you have wrongly tried to correct me on Marbury vs. Madison:: You had better read that all the way to the end. This is a famous Case in jurisprudence used as a precedent in many situations: It shows that any laws that Congress or the States would try to make that would contradict, or violate or that would be repugnant to the CONSTITUTION(highest law) would automatically be null and void as though it never existed.

We have lots of those kind of useless ,repugnant, non laws today, because no one has been keeping a good leash on our Zionist friends.(One World Order Friends)(favor Israel above the US friendslaugh laugh laugh )

Leah, let one of your kids move back home and you can claim "head of household"! oh, no that is the income tax return. Just $600 - just a couple more shares of a stock I already own and a tip -- gold is to be one of the better investments today. If you can, invest a little!

Northrn Yanke also needs to Read Marbury vs. Madison over again, read it all the way through the whole thing to the end. Sorry, I am not going to let you people get away with false accusing me on this topic. It is a long read. But it is serious matter. Among other things it shows that all so called laws passed that are repugnant to the Constitution, never were a law even from the minute they were supposedly passed(from their inception)

it is cash into the economy. it WILL help. it will decrease the slide near term. it is a band-aid though. changes have to come in terms of reduced deficit spending, smaller trading imbalance, and other economic/social reforms before real progress can be made....

Here is something to think of
Collect all the loans we have made
To these other country's and quit
Shipping our main blue collar job's
Over sea's and tax them more to ship
There good's in to make it fair on the
People who work here that way they can't price

Gouge us to death this would bring
Back job's right here to U.S.A

What they are giving us right now
Is not a fix at all just going to hurt
Us more when the bottom falls out

Do you think the bi-partisan economic stimulus package will help strengthen the economy? YES or NO?

It's a Presidential Primary year,
and both parties are trying to
save their butts, so they're
handing out free money.

It's like the bread and circuses
the Romans handed out to their
citizens to take their minds
off their problems and keep
them from revolting.
