I have been in construction for 26 years. The value for what I do is less than in 1980. Its because of people that are not suppose to be here doing the work for much less and because of there number. The rest of you that have not yet been affected it just a matter of time

Quick question for you soffit... is your pricing competitive? because while it makes sense to get different quotes and prices but I would pay more for a job well done by someone reputable. again jmo flowerforyou

The problem is across the board in both residential and commercial work. In commercial trades, almost all trades have been affected. In residential its low end and middle priced homes that trades have been affected by cheap labor. Skilled and unskilled.

lETS GET THE ILLEGALS OUT OF HERE AND THE WAGES WILL GO UP.

The cost of increased wages will simply then be reflected in higher prices for goods, thereby negating any effect that this would have on stimulating the economy.

thumbs upbigsmile Glad to see intelligent young people

Less money would be spent on social service and welfare programs. And the guy that runs into my truck would likly have insurance. Our county hospitals would not be in finanial disrepair.

Fair enough.

Illegals do not get welfare and social services so Illegals will not effect this number at all.

When they get free care at the county hospital and wic and the lone star card that is free social services. You need to go back to the first page and read the entire thred. I have personaly suffered damage from someone that was not supposed to be here driving with no insurance. I can go on. They get fake ides.

Did we have to get a refund in the first place to get any of the stimuli? I hope not cause I owe $2 to Fed and $18 to state

I think our economic system is too far gone to help it now, unless we dump the Private for profit federal reserve system, and the IRS (PRIVATE COLLECTION agency) ,as both of them are totally unCONSTITUTIONAL, against the LAW of OUR REPUBLIC!!!(FRAUDS)The 16 th and 17 th Amendments are said to never have been RATIFIED and so some say that means that WE have not had a legitimate SENATE since that FRAUD!!! TELL ME THIS: How could about 3 men pass the federal reserve ACT during CHRISTMAS VACATION WHILE CONGRESS WAS OUT OF SESSION????(FRAUD????)

smo..... you made the statement on another thread that the 16th and 17th amendments had never been lawfully passed. I corrected you on that. I will do so once again .... ratified in 1913. Where are you getting all of this misinformation?

To answer the question. I cannot give an opinion until I see what the final package offers. The details have to be ironed out. I have heard numbers ranging from $300 to $600 for individuals and up to $1200 for married couples, and $300 for children. I also heard checks are to be mailed out in June. But once again, this is not finalized.

P.S. I am editing this to address another misconcept of smo's.

smo .... Marbury vs. Madison. Obviously, you do not know what that decision entailed. it has nothing to do with the 16th Amendment. It had to do with the appointment of a district judge. The decision established the doctrine of judicial review, which recognizes the authority of courts to declare statutes unconstitutional.
