I gotta give credit where credit is due. You and Abra have explained it about as well as most people can. I have tried
transcendental mediation, so far I have been unsuccessful, I believe this is due in part by my tendency to ground myself to the physical world. Science shows us that all things are energy on some level, it also shows us that energy never ends, but instead changes form. So if one where to consider God not as a seperate entity, but insead as a state of being within ones self.To find God one must only look within their selves.

"nadius" it sounds like you are saying that MAN IS GOD

I'm not saying god is anything. Just pointing out possiblities.
I happen to believe that we are energy myself and that energy doesn't end, instead it changes.

so "nadius" what are you trying to say...explain your point further

"This is the voice of God, I command you to take your finger out of your nose"

Am I god, No I am not! You are looking for answers to a question that cannot be answered. You are looking for an absolute in a realm of possibilities. Can I say God exists? No I cannot. Can I say God doesn't exist? No I cannot. In between two opposite ends of beliefs, there are vast amounts of possibilities. I can prove air exists, though I cannot see it. I can also prove energy exists. There is no proof that God exists, there is also no proof that God doesn't. There are only possibilities.

Hi dragoness

Helloflowerforyou As for the argument of the universe. My dad always said it is the question of which came first the chicken or the egg? You can't have a chicken without an egg and you can't have an egg without a chicken. So there it is.

I believe we as humans believe at this point our knowledge is insurmountable. But we are still babies in the knowledge department and we will know the answers to these questions one day.

Just like when we believed the world was flat and we would fall off of it, I believe some are trying to fit the universe into this same philosophy and it is not possible. As for a god creating it, I do not believe that.

Hi different! Just waiting to see what funches is going to say to me now that I answered his question again...

"Abracadabra" all you said was that you couldn't describe the experience ..and you also didn't have any benefits beyond what someone could obtain having a dream

I would argue that it's quite different from dreaming. Being in a meditative state is not at all like being asleep, nor like being in a dream.

It only sounds that why when you attempt to describe it to others. You have to experience it for yourself.

That's all I can say.

However, I will agree with you, that it's not proof of anything other than there are many ways to delude ourselves. laugh

Nope, meditation is not proof of anything. But it's a really cool experience none-the-less and I highly recommend it.

You realize all the while that I'm in total agreement with your original assertion that there is no 'rational' explanation for believing in a God.

But then again, I would argue that there's no rational explanation to suggest that the entire universe isn't just a dream. In fact, modern physics is currently at impasse to explain it rationally. That may never change, or it might. Who knows?

I still say that if you want to come to any rational conclusions you’re going to need to resort to pretending just like everyone else does. bigsmile

but "creative soul" isn't the entire dictionary made up terminology?...or how many people can comprehend advance quantum physics? so do that mean those that can comprehend it must limit there explanation of it to the realm of the dictionary or do they come up with other terms and other ways to explain it

Yes, the entire dictionary contains the established definition(s) for any given term. Quantum physics has added to our language and understanding(s). However, the average person does not understand the concepts.

When an average person experiences the unimaginable,(s)he is required to use the knowledge which they possess in order to describe the events. You have asked for a description which you would not deem delusional. Would you seriously entertain the validity of an unimaginable event based on terminology that did not yet exist? Would you accept the new creation of any given term, in the attempt for another to successfully describe the unimaginable?

...you are using the dictionary as a leap of faith as to not to explain new knowledge like the religious use the bible to not explain beyond the context of the bible

This parallel has no foundation, my friend...

All we have available as effective communication are the accepted meaning(s) of familiar terms between the ones communicating.

I could write for an eternity in a language another cannot comprehend, and absolutely no understanding would come of it.
