I kinda saw him as the next Steve McQueen. There just aren't many actors I care for these days, but I had hopes for this kid. Oh well, it's appointed unto all men to die.

you have amazing handwriting!!!!

Its a shame but I don't feel bad for him. The initial reports suggest it was suicide, and if not that drug abuse. I don't feel bad for him, I feel bad for his family. If he killed himself, he took all his pain and anxiety and threw it onto his family now. That's so damn selfish. But, once again its another tale of spoiled rich celebrities going too far. Sounds cruel, but its true.

You wanna know what's sad? Thousands of people die each day from drug overdoses...but do we hear about them? Is there news coverage and postings all over the internet about those deaths? Nope. What a signal to send...you're only important to this country if you're famous. Famous people die and we watch thousands of hours of television covering their deaths. What makes Heath Ledger's or Anna Nicole's life more precious than the rest of John Q. Public?

on the flip side of this, does john q publics every move get photographed, written about, distorted, filmed, reitinerated ad nausaum on the internet/tv?does jon q public feel these celebrities should have no private life because their job is public? It's not that celebrities are more important, its the fact that every aspect of their lives is public and when they pass we have to go every detail of their death.Even in death we can't leave the poor souls alone.thank god i'm not famous..the hounding would drive me to suicide too.

Do you think that the famous don't already know the horrors of fame when they accept it? Wouldn't one be able to tell that their life would be put under a microscope? You'd think so with entertainers like Kiss or SLipknot. Think the makeup and masks are just a gimmick? Perhaps the famous should consider the price of fame...

Price of fame? Poor babies. The world by the tail. More money than their grandchildren could ever spend. So, they go and whine and OD. Wahhhh, wahhhsad WEAK and pitiful. Can't stand the price of fame? RETIRE! Take the money and run! I don't feel sorry for these crybabies. Ledger was an amazing talent, but a poor excuse as a man. There are ordinary people out there scraping to make a living, with families not eating so well, etc. but they put one foot in front of the other and somehow make it. Then you get these people like Britney, Lindsey and these other spoiled little rich freaks who just can't cope.sad

Cry me a river. I do feel for the families of these sorry souls, however. We make heroes out of the wrong people in this country. We make heroes out of athletes, many dumber than a fence post, but born with God-given talent who wear enough money in their ear lobes to feed several hundred hungry people and spout gibberish. But, a brave soldier returning from serving his or her Country (nothing said here about the rightness or wrongness of the war) is lucky to get a job. We pay teachers a pittance and give them the major responsibility of teaching kids how to pass the right test. Then we wonder why we are falling behind in the world.

I think I am rambling....good night.

Kurt Cobain couldn't handle it. One of the most promising songwriters and someone who could've been the voice of his generation. Some people are just tortured, and money really CAN'T buy happiness in some cases. Just escape, and sometimes that escape is early and permanent.

Yes, but damnit I deal with people every day who are tortured by the fact they don't have a place to live, don't have any idea where there next meal is coming from, have to walk or ride their bike and don't have warm winter clothing. And, somehow, they cope. I still can't feel sorry for these people who can't cope. By the way, I think Courtney might have played a part in making sure Kurt couldn't go on.....know what I mean?
