Do you ever feel like giving up? That is it all really worth it? I am feeling that way now and need some insight , even ministers are people too and have feelings..

It seems as though every time I am getting a breakthrough , something always happens and just destroys it , even family members have hurt me this time , gosh it doesn't get any worse than that..

Brother, if you are a Minister, I have much love for you. First off, thank you for carrying the word! I'm sure you can remember the time when you first realized you had a calling to do what you do. I have a similar calling, to be a social worker, and I'm sure the tug on my heart is no less than it was on yours. Try to pray for the knowledge of God's will for you, and the power to carry it out! giving up on what? On ministering anymore , sometimes it all seems worthless ... Not everyone you try to reach will be affected or changed by what you do...it's an unfortunate reality. However, I think that if you stop and take a deep look at your ministering, you can probably think of plenty of examples of people who you've been able to help greatly. It's those instances which make it all worth it. Just because you can't help everyone doesn't undermine the importance of those people who you have been able to help.

Has it always been worthless, I think not. Some times a path can get rocky, then you'll find a lake and the rocks make sense if for nothing other than they're flat and great fun to skip on the lake. Now that rock you initially tripped over and for some unknown reason picked up and put in your pocket has now given you a lighter moment in life when you skip it on the lake. Have faith in the purpose if nothing else.

Randy, anybody in the helping profession is going to feel like giving up, that it is not worth it. People are people and we don't have control over them or over circumstances. If this is what you are called to do, this is just part of the cycle. Press on, friend! Until things start looking up for you and you are more peaceful, keep getting support, here and at home.
