Maybe the real God is talking to you and showing you that that one book called the Bible is not an answer for everything. Maybe he wants you to open your heart to all of his children. Except everyone for who they are. Search your heart and see if maybe God made more things then the Bible and he wants you to do more then just teach one book.

Or, perhaps he needs a rest and some support because he is in a challenging and sometimes heart-breaking occupation.

The negative force is pulling at you. You know that. I know that. It can only use what you let it. Only God knows your heart. The negative knows what it hears and sees. Be quiet, calm down....receive the love that you yourself show to those in need.

Pick yourself up and shake it off. You are needed and respected in your field of chosen work. Weakness is human. We all have it.

Get your butt out there and see the changes that you have been a part of in the lives of whomever.

It is not all lost. Even if you have made a change for even one...it is worth it.

What kind of ministry do you do?

Do you have a church? Do your preach sermons?

How do you view your ministry?

Do you view it as a mission to bring people to God?

Do you view it as a mission to instill in people good morals?

Do you view it as a mission to instill in people love?

Do you even have a ‘mission statement’?

Do you become involved in organizing productive activities away form the church?

Do you drown those activities with too much prayer and focus on reverence or God?

Suffocating people with religion will leave them gasping for air.

Just organizing people to get together to do something really great is itself a tribute to God.

No need to always suffocate it with prayer or religious sermons or comments.

Try organizing activities that do positive things and surprise the hell out of everyone by not even so much as saying a prayer once during the whole activity.

If questioned, just respond by saying, our actions here today are a living prayer.

Maybe you just need to focus a bit more of emphasizing the beauty of life and doing God’s work, and a little less focus on preaching dogma and praying.

Just a thought.

If your focus is to just get people to buy into dogma I can see why you would become frustrated.

Try shifting your focus toward organizing and participating in positive activities without constantly pushing dogma or reverence. Those things can become quite burdensome for many people.

And are they really necessarily?

Get some little children to go to an old age home and play games with the residents.

When people ask you why you are praying tell them, “The prayers are on the beaming faces of the residents”

Try shifting your ministry from one of words to one of actions. Without suffocating it in dogma.

Then people may view your ministry differently.

You’ll always have Sunday mornings to chew everyone out with a fire and brimstone sermon.

Or better yet, to inspire them with sermons of love. Stories that don’t even need to be taken from the Bible.

I would love to be a preacher in a way myself. But I could never preach any particular religious doctrine. I would need to preach love and humanitarian concepts.

I’m not an atheist, but neither do I believe in the biblical image of God. I have a pantheistic view of life.

The bottom line I think is to ask yourself the question the Yzrabbit1 brought up,… Are your preaching for a religion? Or are you preaching for God? If it’s the latter, then why confine yourself to a single book?

If that's your stance then I'm not surprised that you have no faith.

How can a person feel like giving up on something they have faith in?

How can a person ask if something is really worth it, if they genuinely have faith in it?

Clearly there's a lack of faith in the mix here.

I'm not religious but I don't like seeing people upset.

Don't give up, if for no other reason than yourself. Continue to pray to god, and ask or guidance. Continue to do sermons and what-not for the many people that your words, the words of god, do touch. As was stated before you can't reach everyone, but you can help the people that need you. Isn't that what is important?

I'd rather not go into why I lost faith so please don't ask me. It's a very touchy subject for me. But I would also hate to see someone with the faith give up :(

u did witness a miracle and have forgotten it. u asked for prayer to help that young man of urs. and u came back a few days later and said it was good report. now that is faith. for a bunch that comes to call this joint home for awhile everyday.believe in urself and that u r doing what is ur specialty is.it says somewhere in that book u preach from that everyone has gift and they can use it well. believe me i am still looking and i am 42.
if u r down then u need to send an sos to god to show u where and what u need to change this frame of mind.

you have to look within yourself at exactly what you are actually trying to accomplish when it comes to you catering to others as a minister ...enlightenment deception entertainment ignorant bliss stagnation martyrdom control recuitment etc. .....

but if you have doubts in what you are doing ..then that in itself saids it all
