Yes, it is quite an Amazing movie! It will have people salivating at the mouth for the next one with so much subterfuge surrounding the movie. It will be talked about for quite awhile.

The camera angles/shots were interesting. I'd say it's a fresh take on a Godzilla movie. But not much else. Wasn't scary or suspenseful, you knew exactly what would happen next. Type of movie you can only see once (like "The Sixth Sense").

I think it's genius ... using the live camera filming method for a sci-fi film .. very original. Wanna go watch it again.

The Japanese oil company TAGRUATO drops a satellite (Chimpanz III) into the ocean as part
of viral marketing (shown at the end of the movie when Rob and Beth were on the ferris wheel).
TAGRUATO works with SLUSHO (a slush company), as the main ingredient for SLUSHO is found
at the satellite dropzone (deep ocean). While searching for satellite and ingredients, they
woke Cloverfield (the monster).

People who were at the party in the beginning of the movie, were seen wearing SLUSHO shirts.
Rob apparently was going to be the Vice President of TAGRUATO in Japan.

The main ingredient of Slusho apparently turns a tiny fish into a HUGE whale, which explains
the size of Cloverfield. *Update* The main ingredient is a deep sea nectar.

For animals/fishes/insects to survive in the deepest ocean (very high boiling temperature),
they naturally have very high heat resistance. This explains how Cloverfield is able to
withstand numerous bombs and attacks from the army.

Cloverfield refers to the field formerly known as Central Park. Clovers are
usually prone to grow at places after bombing. Thus the term "Clover" and "field" referring to park.

It's named "Cloverfield" after the street outside of the director's office. That was the working title, but it became so popular that it stuck.

The monster is a baby BTW. It's not angry, it's scared and looking for it's mother. I read that it had been asleep for hundreds of years before the sub accidentlly woke it while they were retreiving the satellite.

LOL! Dude, so untrue! That movie wasn't predictable at all. If you want to say "YOU KNEW WHAT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN AND MAKE YOURSELF LOOK LIKE SOME KIND OF MOVIE GENIUS THEN GO AHEAD!", but don't insult my intelligence. This movie was nothing like Godzilla other than it was set in New York area. I would of sat through it twice, but my girlfiend had to get home. It really was quite a masterpiece and cutting edge stuff. Other than the Fag Witch trial's which was complete Home Movie Debauchery! Anyway's, delete that quote because it isn't worth the page it is written on!

Ok ok I'll take you too! lol

I can see the Godzilla comparisons and can agree with them to a point. But what Godzilla/Gamera/King Kong/etc failed to show was the human toll that takes place during their rampages. Cloverfeild shows that side of it. Instead of cheering on the monster to destroy more things, this movie makes people want it to stop and leave the characters alone so they can get on with living. drinker
