my brother, who i have only known since the beginning of december, has been diagnosed with cancer, i wont say what kind, but he may die he may not,but the doctors say its a 60-40 death chance, not bad odds, but not good either.... they say all the time in books that you never expect the word cancer to be applied to you or anyone in you're family, and you really don't, until it happens, all we can do is hope, but its hard to hope against that which you cannot fight

i will update you all in a month or so, depending on how things go

This is going to sound ridiculous and I apologize right off the bat for that, but it is true. Laugh! It improves the odds immensely.

if i had one wish, besides 'get rid of the cancer' it would be that i could have at least known him longer before this happened

have you checked into cancer treatment centers of america i hear they are suppose to be better than the generic health care crap that a lot of us have to deal with ..i would look into it because in my opinion the majority of the health care here in the U.S is a load of sh*t geared to taking your money and giving nothing in return except the bill ...jmo

I have a friend...who is in remission now (and had about the same odds) Thank God!

But during the scary times and various therapies, I got to know her (and she - me) deeper than ever in an accelerated short time.

BS was dispensed with and absolute bare emotion, honesty, and search for life philosophy was dealt with. Not saying that the Cancer was a gift....but I wouldn't trade those conversations for ANYTHING!

Don't say "gotten"! GO "GET"!
