There is a difference between loving and being "in love"...granted we all love lots of things, but to be in love is a delirious high sort of thing...to be in love for a lifetime is a truly hard thing to achieve, if at all possible...you come back to working to keep it....in love at 20 is different than in love at 40.. I have felt it down to my core, but that did not make it successful...I think it is opening up completely and allowing someone to crawl inside you (not necessarily sexually, but that is a part of it)and experience you at your core. (if you can open up enough to allow that, not an easy thing to do)

Well...I can't tell you what love is for you....but I know what it is for me......

Love is.......seeing her for the first time and just melting.

Love is.......holding her hand and having that funny feeling go through you like a jolt of electricity.

Love is.......kissing her lips and just feeling that "spark" go off, and both of you feel it.

Love is.......doing nothing but cuddling on the couch and loving that you are both there.

Love is.......when you are with her, the outside world does not exist....just the two of you.

Love is.......accepting her faults and not trying to change her. You fell for who she is, so why change her?

Love is.......holding her when she had a bad day. She needs you, just needs to be held by you, and that is all you have to do. That is powerful folks.

Love is.......after an argument, taking time to cool off and then coming together to resolve. Never go to bed angry.

Love is.......laughing like a kid with her, doing silly stuff with her...and not giving a damn what anyone thinks.

Love is.......surprising her with flowers on a day when you just felt like doing it...no reason...just that you were thinking of her.

Love is.......cooking dinner for her...or running a hot bubble bath cause you know she had a long, hard day at work.

Love is.......watching her walk into a room, and she, and only she, captivates you...she holds your gaze.

I got more, but when I am involved with someone and all these things come true...I will know I just might have found love....again!

a kiss is just a kiss until you find the one you love. a hug is just a hug until you're with the one you're thinking of...a dream is just a dream until it comes true love...love is just a word until it is proven to you..........

Describe what you think love is? Winner gets a date.

I don't have much to say on the topic of love except that I know it when I see it.

Can I still get that date?

Love is an attraction to another person, via physical, mental and emotional to the point you form a bond, not matter how small. Even if it's just one way.

True love is when the bond is strong enough you'd do anything for that person. Even take their burdens unto your self and willingly inconvience yourself to help them get over it. Even to the point of making the ultimate sacrifice for their benifit, if it ever came to that.

True love bonds are not tested by strictly physical attraction after phyiscal fade, and if it's true love it grows stronger with age.

the ultimate sacrifice? Dude you are scaring me.noway

 The WANT to give, help, show, care, feel, love ANOTHER, W/O even thinking about doing that!!
Love is felt by many in different ways.
But LOVE will ALWAYS SHOW, through the personal acts that the other does for them. And ALL ACTS our felt, and returned to the other, through their lives.
To be THEIR best friend and THEIR "EVERYTHING" Daily and to FEEL THAT expression RETURNED!!  Thats "LOVE".

Describe what you think love is? Winner gets a date.

Here is what I think it is.

Love is that feeling you get in the pit of your stomach when you see that special person. The smile you get on your face when you see them across the room and they don't see you looking. The sweat between your hands because you have been holding hands to long. A hug for nothing at all. Tears of happiness. Smelling thier perfume or cologne even though they are not around. The urge to write beautiful things to them. Even the annoying things they do you learn to love. Love is the shoulder to lay a head. A three word sentence that freezes us in our track when heard for the first time. That something you miss when it's gone and would die for when you have it. That one thing we all long for and rarely ever find. We yurn for it, die for it and mostly live our lives for it.

“Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.”

-Rumi

(one of my very favorite quotes)

To state the obvious "This is what it means to me *personally*".

I love this quote because it indicates to me a certain lack of cynicism and it starts with the self. Before any validation from any outside source, you must deem your own love as valuable. We like to think of ourselves as connected. If we see our love as valuable and have the desire to share, other "like minds" appear into our consciousness. People love the loving.

Just like we tend to criticize others for faults we see in ourselves, so goes love and admiration. If you've ever seen somebody zone in on someone in a room who needs that special word or acknowledgment....isn't THAT awe inspiring?!!

When you think to yourself, "I wish I had that type of compassion and ability to lift a spirit like that".......you've already recognized it....and you've recognized in YOURSELF.

What is love?....... Love just "IS"!

The "choice" you have is whether or not you'll make the effort to see it and be it.

If you feel love, you'll feel loved. Why build a barrier to something healing.....that just "IS".

love is a very general term, because you can love your mother, or your child, or even a new object, a place, a feeling,, exc...Love is nothing more than a chemical recation in our bodies that creates an emotional response.

There is my two centslove

the last one you think of at night
the first one you think of in the morning

love is patient and unselfish

When you love someone, all your saved-up wishes start coming out.

I love you not because of who you are, but because of who I am when I am with you.

One of my favorites...
Love is a temporary madness. It erupts like an earthquake and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have become so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the promulgation of promises of eternal passion. That is just being "in love" which any of us can convince ourselves we are.

Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away, and this is both an art and a fortunate accident. Your mother and I had it, we had roots that grew towards each other underground, and when all the pretty blossom had fallen from our branches we found that we were one tree and not two.

Love is acceptance of each other
Being there for the good times, and the bad
Knowing that your friends first, able to communicate with each other
Knowing that some days you will be the strong one, other days the weak one
Giving each other respect, and trust
Being patient, being willing to listen
which all come back to
Acceptance of each other
