Here is a thought...

It is commonly accepted within most if not all 'Christianity' that one can recognize a tree by it's fruit...

I mean a good tree cannot produce bad fruit...

A bad tree cannot produce good fruit...

Right?

Apply that to creation then...

How are 'we' as fruit? Overall... mankind?

From what 'tree' did we come?

Come on people... open your eyes!!!!

Hmmmmmm....

My life Tree is made up of many different fruits,, some good and some not so good,, yet within these fruits I have learned the good from the bad,,, Yet falling at times.....knowing when I fall I will not be tossed away
Humbling myself ... knowing that I am not perfect ... yet still a good fruit....

My tree of life,,, began with love, kindness and understanding that Life itself is a gift.

Well considering the nature of man, the fruit Eve tasted must have been a combination of sour and sweet. As we are a varied combo of good and evil.

I know you were not referring to the tree of knowledge here but that saying always brings that image to my mind.

I would like to say, being an optimist and having a positive nature that the tree was a "good" tree, but some of the "fruits" got a mind of their own and formed spines and thorns and rotted from the inside out....lolbigsmile

Personal responsibility is important...

No blaming 'evil'...

No blaming 'God'...

Just the recognition that it is all out there...

Focus on and choose that which is good...

Dwell upon the thoughts that produce joy...

Bring forth the joy and love within...

Share it...

Show it...

Enjoy it...

Know it...

People may feel that I am being hard on others' religion...

Truly, people have the right to choose that which they want to choose...

But to blame all the wrong and the so-called 'evil' on an entity... is to take away the value of one's own personal say.

"But to blame all the wrong and the so-called 'evil' on an entity... is to take away the value of one's own personal say."

This I can totally agree with.

Frankly, I didn't know how to respond to your initial post. My brain went to farming: Some years the fruit is good and some years, not so good depending on the growing factors. Metaphorically, I wasn't touching that.

Hello. I love God and the earth and all he has done for us.
That's my 2 cents worth. Have a nice evening and may God bless you all.

I can't see this fruit/tree metaphor... how many people are all good or all bad? Isn't pretty much everyone a mix of good and bad?

Genotype vs. phenotype or nature vs. nurture has been a question for a long time. Again, I think both factor into who you are- you have certain tendencies and they can be encouraged or supressed.

One thing about the fruit/tree metaphor did seem true to me though... if you neglect fruit on the ground and step on it or kick it or even if you just ignore it for long enough... then it will definitely go bad and rot.

Peace.

Hey whiteboy...

anoasis...

Difference is essential to experience.

Without experience there can be no knowledge.

Without a difference in experience there can be no reason.

Without reason we cease to exist.

If there was one source, it was the source for all.

One can experience the same thing, many times over and it will be a new experience each time.

Care to take a stab at how THAT can happen?

But you are forgetting, that EVERY experience changes a person IN SOME WAY, therefore experiencing the same thing today that happened last week, last month or last year, will not be perceived in the same way. Because you are not the same person you were the last time the 'event' was experienced.
