People have thought that the end of time has been happening since the beginning of well time. So something tells me that the world will just keep on a turning over the next decade, as well as many decades to come. Thinking that the end will come during our generation is something that just comes from pride.

You know how in History, you read about all these tribes and all these crazy people thinking the world is going to end? Back in the 1600s and 1800s. Well... its same **** different era. Everyone thought it was gonna end on the Millenium... well unless a huge meteor crashes into earth or all the countries decide to start nuking each other... I don't see it happening. I could see something like.... corruption happening. Government crashing, money become nothing, cities fall, etc... but, as for the world ending... unless someone makes it end or something.. Its just another myth.

It's important remember that Mayan definitions are not identical to English/European definitions. Eg. as in the definition of apocalypse being closely related to rebirth or renaissance in lieu of death and destruction.
