Pasta is always the easiest way to make an impressive meal, just add meat and sauce and you have the entree, add salad and garlic bread and you have a full meal.

I thought of that but I did lasagna last time they were over. Think its bad to do another italian dish?

maybe for a change try a pasta salad instead... keeps the simplicity but isn't like recycling the previous choice bigsmile

How about mexican ... tacos or enchiladas? If you buy Old El Paso Enchilada sauce there is a recipe on the back. Very simple to make. I add refried beans to the meat also.

Otherwise you could make pulled beef or pork if you have a big crockpot. Put the meat in the oven for a couple of hours with about an inch or two of water in the pan. Cut it up and put it into the crockpot for the rest of the day with the water. About two hours before drain the water and add BBQ sauce. Make sandwiches and have some other things to go with it.

Just a couple of suggestions. Happy planning.

You should definitely make a cool spaghetti dinner with garlic bread. Brown some ground beef, cook some noodles, and pour in some ragu! Then add some extra garlic, onions, and tomatoes if you want it to look home made. Then, the easy frozen garlic bread that you can buy or at the deli. Be sure to have some fresh parmesan cheese that you get in the cheese section and not the cheap shaker kind. You could serve with a beautiful green salad that you get at the grocery store bagged up and add some cherry tomatoes to make it look like you slaved on it.
You never fail with spaghetti! Everyone loves it!

You can do the same with chicken alfredo. Just brown some chicken, cook the pasta, bread....etc. You get the idea.

This is an excellent idea too. You can even make your own Chinese dish. Lawrey's has these marinades that I just tried. You could buy stir fry vegetables, cut up some chicken breasts, some pineapple, and the Hawaiian Marinade. Get the eggrolls and you have a good chinese meal.

A good appetizer is ham rolls. Take slices of ham lunchmeat andd spread on cream cheese, put a stalk of green onion on there and roll up then cut into bite size pieces! Very simple and yummy!

ok buy or make garlic bread using italian bread.

buy one london broil steak

buy a roll of fresh mozzerella and pre slice into thin pieces.

marinate steak in italian dressing and cook to med rare.

when you flip the steak put in garlic bread under broil until golden brown

Take out steak and thinly slice it and spread on gar bread then on top add fresh mozz slices back in oven for 3 mins until it just starts to melt.

Cut and serve

Great appetizer for 8-12 people.
