Oh yeah,,, to answer your question, I think it is sweet. Go ahead with the red rather than another color. The rose is the statement, a color other than red would say you are unsure of your statement. UNLESS you KNOW her favorite color rose is something other than red. Then go for that,,, it will show you were attentive. I once had a man bring me a Heath candy bar... I thought that was the neatest thing. He actually READ my profile!

My question is what the heck are you going to do with that flower all night?

How about a carnation, or if it must be a rose get one that you can button/pin to something to keep it out of the way.

If you enjoyed the first date, SEND flowers the next day.

How about SEND a single rose and time it to arrive while she is getting ready. Well, not bath towel with green goop on face ready, but you get the idea. Don't forget the card that reads something like "This little beauty teased my eye in preparation for the greater beauty that will be on my arm tonight". If you are not the sloppy romantic type go with humor: "If you enjoy tonight use me for pot pouri tomorrow; if not the refuse container will smell better than the memory".

Eh, cut me some slack, I made those up on the spot. Good luck, FTD stock holder.

Well steven looks like I'm a group all by myself when I said wait 'til the second date for the rose. To me, it's cliche' and it does smack of being desparate. I do, however, think the idea of the Heath bar, some little something in her profile or you've heard her mention is a great idea, it's original and proves you pay attention to the little things.

first date, for sure. I'd be happy even if it's NOT a rose!

I'd love getting a rose on a first date. But then, I haven't gotten flowers in years.

I'd say do it. If she really doesn't appreciate the thought and gesture then maybe she isn't the one for you.

Just my 2 cents.flowerforyou

one of the girls i am seeing tomorrow seems like she would appreciate it, the other doesn't seem like she really has a romantic side.

really really depends on the girl, One might take it as desperation my suggestion if you want to bring a rose...bring a yellow one they symbolize friendship, most girls know this, but if she doesn't educate her...that way you can show her your smart and romantic without her feeling like your going overboard.

that is definitely going overboard. I'm feeling iffy about one rose let alone a dozen.

Go with what you feel is right in your heart. A single rose can speak a thousand words.

I Guess it depends on the age of your first date to. When you are as young as you are -- one would be best. sincerely

my personal opinion is it is a good idea, but I feel like it may give out a hint of desperation.

What is so desperate about giving a lady a rose when picking her up for a date? Its not as if by buying her a rose you think she should automatically jump in bed with you is it?
