I have little experience reading books, mainly because I have difficulties focusing and taking in information and im trying to get better at it.
In terms of things im looking for I would like books that are similar to the legend of zelda specifically breath of the wild, princess mononoke and avatar the last airbender. I am mostly drawn to how whimiscal, magical and fantastical the worlds of these stories, the depths of the character and their relationships with other characters and the detailed and thought out world building. I like more magical and imaginative characters that have cool powers or weapons, maybe characters that arent human but that isnt super necessary. I read through The Amulet series by Kazu Kibuishi when I was in high school and liked the vibes of those books (although I havent read the final book yet no spoilers). I would like suggestions for stories with action, adventure and exploration with themes of magic and nature. I like stories with chosen ones and heroes who rise to adventure to save the world, although im not against more chill and monster of the week or slice of life stories not involving saving the world. I would prefer to find books that are in series'. I would like suggestions that are recent, within the last 5 years or so, preferably for adults but im fine with young adult oriented books. I would prefer to avoid intense stories like lord of the rings, although I would like to properly read through those books some day. I am looking for somewhat medieval fantasy stories but would like to avoid more gritty fantasy stories that are dark in tone, as well as stories travelling from the real world to a fantasy world, and anything like horror or excessive gore. I would very much appreciate any assistance, I look forward to finding good books. |

I read Tolkien's lord of the rings series a long time ago. Hobbit It's like an introduction to this series.
Have you read the Harry Potter book series? It's more for children and teenagers but it's easy and pleasant to read if you don't like darker stories. I don't know if you'd like Cassandra Claire's Shadowhunters series. The first one is the "City of bones". I don't know if you would also like the Witcher series by Sapkowski. You might like the Dragon Riders series of books by Christopher Paolini the first one is Eragon. You might also like the "Painted man". There are many more series of fantastic books, you just have to look for them. Enjoy reading! |
