In keeping with Black History Month who are your favorite groups or singers?
Mine are: The Four Tops, The Temptations, Earth, Wind and Fire,Kool and the Gang and New Edition for groups. For singers: James Brown, Marvin Gaye, Smoky Robinson, Aretha Franklin, Michael and Janet Jackson, Lionel Richie, and Whitney Houston and Tina Turner and Prince. Now I think I’m done. |

I like all of the one's you mentioned and would add (for actors) Sidney poiter (don't know if that's how you spell his last name)
And I would add Diana Ross, soul 2 soul, Bob marley, Barry white to your list of singers (to add only a few, because there's so so many!) |

When I hear a song, I think, do I like it or do I not like it. I have to listen several times. I usually don't know the band or singer.

How is this topic on here? Because it’s music related. I forgot another one Dione Warwick (who happens to be Whitney Houston’s 1st cousin). |

Dionne Warwick. Another group The Whispers.
This post is meant to praise Black musicians who shaped all areas of music and even started different styles of music. |

Speaking of Bob Marley do you know there’s a movie coming out about him this Valentine’s Day titled “One Love”? I’ve also seen where a movie is going to be made based on Michael Jackson titled “Michael” and so far one actor has been chosen to portray his father Joe. |

Yes, actually I just saw the advert for the Bob Marley movie only this morning.... And Michael Jackson, well he did a lot for the music scene, so I guess he deserves a mention too... Most of the music I listened in my youth was by black artist's, having grown up in ghetto... |
