Before COVID shut down I was going to go to an Ayahuasca Retreat. But I've heard storied of people going to one and nothing happens.

Has anyone gone to one? What was your experience?

You spent money, on a medicinal retreat? For why?

Camping alone, is rather inexpensive,
and leaves plenty of time for reflection,
and meditation.

You don't need to spend money on that.

Like Angry Gnomester here said, going on a solo camping trip is much better. You save money, you get to relax and reflect, without unnecessary added substances.

I am doubtful you would have the same experience by going camping unless you're taking a Shaman along. lol

How many days is the Retreat? Where & how much?

My mind's messed up the way it is. And I doubt thrusting any more chemicals into it will do any good.

And judging by some of your other posts, the last thing you need to do is take up snorting ayahuasca.

ayahuasca saved my life, after battling opioid addiction for 15 years I had tried every type of rehab and treatment out there with no success. so I decided to try and ayahuasca treatment. I have a lot of experience with psychedelics as a young man I've done a lot of research / studying on every type of psychedelic I'm doing every single one on the planet. so I knew about their healing / mental maintenance properties, that's why shamans have been using them as far back as 5,000 years. I had taken mushrooms over 2,000 times and a controlled supervised setting for the research I was doing. so I was more open to the idea of the Ayahuasca as a treatment and I was open to the experience. I think now looking back did this as a lot to do with the success of the treatment. well I went there and I stayed there for 3 Days getting acclimated and preparing meeting the shaman and the doctor getting to run down and everything. Then we done my treatment, it was a long, very intense and powerful 12 to 15 hour journey. very strong visuals a lot of self-reflecting, and what seem to be either my inner Spirit or the spirit of nature talking to me, being given my experience with psychedelics prepared me for this so it wasn't very overwhelming in a sense of like scary or freaking me out you know it was just very emotional and very moving I felt so connected to the world to nature and to myself at that point in time, the shaman the doctors were there with me the whole way there were three different activities that we performed during my strongest session. activities vary depending on the persons in need so they're all designed to help you reflect and to help you progress to fix what you're there for, it was overall an absolutely amazing experience, since I left there I have never touched an opiate again in my life that has been 6 years ago now and I haven't once it's even had the inkling of wanting to do that at all, and I haven't had to deal with those cravings but also helps me focus on my actual health and physical well-being which helped alleviate the need for the opiates of physical dependency part. it has 100% saved my life and changed me forever. I would definitely recommend a psychedelic treatment to any person who is having a mental problem it can be very healing and helpful for all sorts of mental issues whether it be depression or addiction or just anxiety I mean just all sorts of things it could be so helpful with for just like a mental reset or for actually processing or dealing with emotional traumas being able to get through them or get closure. not necessarily just ayahuasca the Ayahuasca is so strong and is such a profound and like such a strong and overwhelming experience I believe that you really need proper training I guess you should call it or you need the proper mindset going into the Ayahuasca for it to be very useful and for you to be able to get those effects that you want because the The experience itself can be so scary since overwhelming that a lot of people don't get the healing parts out of it that they really need they see it they experience it but it's just so scary and so overwhelming that they can't process it and use it right, that's why I wanted that's why I told you all my background first because I believe that is very key to why it works so good for me because I could only imagine someone not experienced and tripping and psychedelic experiences going through since a long and intense visual / auditory trip it would be insanely scary and overwhelming. so that's why I say I wouldn't recommend the Ayahuasca treatment to a person without the proper experience but I would recommend a low dose mushroom or MDMA trip to any and every person suffering any mental illness or any struggle with that they seem to not be able to overcome, the mental benefits of the psychedelic experiences are so profound and amazing, mdma/mushrooms being less visual and easier to process and get through but they also still provide the mental reset that humans need so I truly recommend it to any person battling with a mental disease or mental problem. since then I've been back to see the shaman and his treatment center more than 30 times never again to take ayahuasca as a medicine but just to help in the process of his treatment and to tell others of my experience, I truly believe in his work and what he is doing, hope I'm not breaking any rules or anything put in this post up but this is something I've felt so strong about for so long but I really haven't told anybody outside of my circle / people at the retreat
