i wonder if she is back on her assignment.... and what the situation is out there !!! Yes, I arrived back in Almaty on Sunday. It was weird to see tanks and soldiers up and down the road to the airport but otherwise things are normalizing. Russian troops are gone, state of emergency over, curfew lifted, airport reopened, grocery stores open again, ATMs have money again, people out and about. Seems back to normal again, thank goodness! OT: I wonder how she has been doing? I hardly ever see her posting anymore! Or at least, not when I’m posting! Miss you, girl!

Yes, I do. Almaty is a nice, friendly, and usually a very safe place to live. This was not something I would have ever expected to happen here. Prior to this, Kazakhstan has been classified as a Level 1 country by the US Department of State, meaning it is among the safest countries in the world to travel to. KZ was considered to be safer than destinations such as France and Germany, which are Level 2 countries. I wonder if he has gotten any snow recently?
